Ableton live 8?

I was thinking of buying some audio software and i am looking for something quite basic and i found ableton live 8. I thought before spending WAY too much o shall ask NG if it's any good. So people of the audio forum, is it any good?

There are loads of DAWs available. Look into them all. Here's a small list:
Image-Line's FL Studio
Propellerhead's Reason
Ableton Live
Steinberg's Cubase
Just do your research carefully on the pros and cons of each specific DAW. Good luck. :)

You are going to get lots of opinions here, everybody is biased. I like Ableton because its extremely flexible regardless of what type of music you are making.
What you should do is get demos of each and see which one has the workflow that you find the most usable, and stick with that one. But don't listen to anybody who says "X is better than all the rest", that's absolutely wrong.

I spent a lot of time working on ableton. Tis a nice sequencer :)
