Denial, probably, as has been said to be the case in the face of loss for many. Then, shock. I would probably feel numb for a while as my mind struggles to get a handle on the situation. Grief would come after that, surely. Then I would be distressed over the consequences that would arise from it.

What, like my mother and father? I have no clue what my emotional response would be, but I'd be worried because I'd probably have to live with my aunt and uncle, and I am not assured of the quality of public schools in Oxycontinland.

I'd leave Texas and maybe never come back, because of the deaths.
