I purchase quite a number of sample packages from zenhiser.com for audio creation. They mostly deal with EDM.
At any rate, they and Soundcloud are hosting a competition for audio producers that involves creating your own, ORIGINAL SAMPLES.
They're offering store credit prizes for up to $250 for three lucky creators, as well as (what I believe to be is) a contract to work for Zenhiser.
You can read more on the Contest page!
Deadline to submit tracks is before January 1st, 2010.
Good luck, NGAP!

Well at least this is a real contest, not some money grubbing whore out like that last contest someone posted about... You know, the one where you had to buy a $500 sample pack to even enter the contest. That was what I would like to call... bullshit.

I remember that one, buy samples and then use them in the hopes of winning?
As far as making them, do they have to made totally by you by scratch, like go record some loops at a studio or something? or what?

I'm pretty certain you have to create your own LOOPS, ONESHOTS, or SOUNDS from SCRATCH.
I know there are a lot of good soundsmiths here, so I thought i'd share.

But, I don't have a microphone =[
Aww screw it, I'll just use sound recorder and a camcorder to get the sound.
Don't take that seriously.

Nope, any genre.
