I too have been "enjoying" Dark Souls. I'm at the third (or fourth?) boss, the Capra Demon. He's a fucking bastard but onyl because there is no goddamn space. Thw Games With Gold version is also only 1.0.0 so no patches have been applied and it's fucked over the online, I don't see summoning marks or players running around or anything really. It's very annoying >:(

See, I feel like it tries to hard to be al llike LOL WE'RE SO HARDCORE!!!!!111one. I mean, it does combine a lot of classic RPG elements which is a nice touch, but then it's all like LOL EXPLOSION RIGHT IN YOUR FACE IM SO HARDCORE LOLOLOLOL.

The layout bothers me a bit, as well as the whole NO PARTY CHAT/PRIVATE CHAT CAUSE MUH ATMOSPHERE.

I'm really trying to find something to enjoy about this game because all of my friends have a huge boner for Dark Souls but i'm just so not feeling it.

Also, just downloading Dark Souls now which I'll play for a bit. I remember getting in on PC from a friend and getting to the first little boss thing before confirming my suspicions that it's fucking impossible to play on a keyboard and mouse setup.

Have also been looking to get this game so I may really enjoy it, but I don't deal too well with overly exaggerated video game rage. GTA Online has not helped me with that one bit.

I agree, although I can see the appeal and I want to like this game. I love the idea that every enemy poses a threat, that's something that's been largely missing from gaming pretty much since Castlevania and the original Zelda on NES. So many games now are glorified shooting galleries where every room is just busywork killing samey enemies with little danger of failure.

But at the same time so much of it is made up of cheap, trial and error bullshit that any other game would be criticized for, but if course here it's a selling point therefore it's deep and unique. Fucking stun locks have no place in a game like this.

Party chat is bullshit too. I wouldn't even mind but only one brief area has had music so far, so what's the point? It's just the same footsteps and sword sound effects. I'd consider Castlevania 1, Devil May Cry 3 and Maximo to be far better games.

The controls are also retarded. They probably feels alright in PS3 but here they'd feel awful even if my bumpers weren't faulty. Every game should allow you to remap the controls, there's no excuse for this shit. But yeah, obviously the bullshit is a feature because this is the best game ever right.

Yes, although usually it happens when I'm playing older games that are generally considered hard. Sometimes I find myself swearing at the TV, slamming my fist down on my chair's arm rest or turning the console off and just dropping the controller on the floor. Then I'll look back on it and wonder how I let myself get so worked up. It's weird, I play these games for entertainment and seem to spend more time frustrated with some of them.

My brother rages at games occasionally, but it's funny when he does. He's snapped discs and even his TV remote got snapped in half. I think that sort of stuff is a whole other level though. I might get pissed out at games sometimes but I've never actually broken anything because of rage.

Also, how does GTA Online make you rage though? Doesn't really seem like something that has the ability to make me rage. It's the only thing I play regularly these days but I generally just piss about on it. Rarely do any of the missions and spend most of the time just driving around aimlessly. I'm not sure why I find it fun but I do.

Speaking of GTA Online, I was just flying around the city in one of those attack helicopters (killed it's owner and took it) when suddenly I blew up. No idea what I hit but when I spawned I saw what you see in the image below. UFO just sitting in the middle of the street with cops and fire fighters swarming around it along with about 5 of the people in the game. First time I've seen this.

Well I generally spend all my time doing Missions and Races. Races being the main thing that pisses me off, like overshooting a corner while in first place in a 16 player race that would land me 20k for winning, or being spun out by another douchey player. Though the worst thing is missing checkpoints, as this isn't always apparently obvious until about 10 seconds after where it will tell you you're going the wrong way and you have to spawn at the last one you went through, which can send you from first to last in a matter of seconds.

Missions I don't find particularly frustrating though, mainly just races and occasionally online if a player is being a dick but I generally end up annihilating them anyway.

Also managed to pick up Metro Last Light for £9 yesterday so I might start playing that before or after I'm done with Dark Souls, it's always looks pretty great.

Breaking news: Dark Souls is really fucking hard.

How do I get past those damn skeletons man I was not expecting this.

I did the exact same thing on PS2 and early 360. I even broke multiple controllers out of rage. Now I just mutter profanities instead. Sometimes I'll try to put it down and walk away but I'll always be right back within a minute.

If you mean the skeletons in that graveyard area, that's the wrong direction and they're way above your level. You're meant to head up the steps on the hill (past the well just by the bonfire).

If you just mean regular skeledudes, when they have their shield up you can kick them (forward + RB) to stagger them, it's actually really easy once you get it down.

Also it took me a while to figure this out but don't have your shield up all the time, since your vitality gauge (or whatever it's called - the green bar) recharges very slowly when it's up and when it runs out you'll be staggered and open for an attack. It's better to leave yourself open and only bring the shield up when an enemy is actually about to attack.

I'm definitely enjoying this game more the farther I get.

Really though, coming into Dark Souls 2 after having beaten Dark Souls 1 really makes you very careful and quite reactionary to the slightest of threats. That's not to say that trail & error bullshit isn't a real complaint, it definitely rears its ugly head at times.

I'm glad it wasn't just me experiencing FPS issues, that shit was whack man, went unplayable like every 5 minutes.

I'm going to download Dark Souls tomorrow now that I've renewed my Gold, time to see what the fuss is all about for myself.

Looking through my gamercard and I realised I still have Seriously 2.0 left for Gears 2, might start grinding the remaining kills while DS is downloading or something.
