Good lord, the temperature seems to be rising a degree every day where I live, sodding ridiculous. I went out into town for a bit earlier for some exercise, and I pretty much collapsed at my front door when I got home because of the heat. Plus I've just run out of chocolate ice cream ;_;

Chances are you won't read this til you get back, but have a good time. Two of my friends are leaving for Florida this week for a month's holiday, the lucky gits.

I've also been into playing Street Fighter 2 a little bit lately, not sure why :x

Maybe it's because he reminds me so much of the characters Gray Fox and Hakumen, but I get a kick out of his "cold, mysterious assassin" personality (as generic as it may be), and love zipping around slicing groups of enemies up with his Deception ability, especially with Bloodshed maxed out.
Hell, maybe I'm just a sucker for ninjas, lol.

Running around as a level 61 Gunzerker with a pistol build that revolves around gunzerking constantly with a Rubi and Unkempt Harold is pretty damn fun, although it is a bit cheap seeing as how it's impossible to get killed!

I always take advantage of the weather when we get it this good and spend it outdoors, but seeing as it's been insanely hot for at least 2 weeks straight I don't feel bad about sitting indoors all day anymore. It's so strange having humid weather in England. The only place I ever experienced that was in Florida and it feels hotter here than it did there (that's probably not true).

My friend decided to gift me Dark Souls on Steam but said I should really get a wired controller for it or it'll be even more impossible. Hopefully he isn't too right because I don't have one, but what should I expect from this? All I know is it's a sort of trial and error based game which is incredibly hard unless you do it right. I haven't watched any gameplay before but I have high hopes.

I a terrible experience, if you haven't got a 360 pad don't even bother downloading it, it's absolutely unplayable without a 360 pad.

Is it only wired 360 controllers that work properly with PC games or can you use a wireless pad with a play and charge kit??

The play and charge kit doesn't let you do that. You can buy a wireless USB receiver that lets you use any wireless xbox controller with a PC. It's surprisingly hard to find an official one though, all the listings on amazon seem to be knock offs.

Second-hand wired controllers are about the same price as the receiver anyway, so you might be better off just getting one of those.

Yeah I learned this the hard way. They even have the on screen commands listed as if you're using an Xbox controller even if you're not, so I had to figure out the keyboard equivalents of the xbox buttons. Anyway that first demon is physically impossible with keyboard so I think I'm gonna wait until I can play it with a controller. It seems like something I can get into though.

I sort of know the feeling, I'm good at all aspects of guitar on RB, but I can do trickier guitar parts and solos with no problems on GH, but I can't do fast and alt strumming for shit. I just find the engine on GH really wonky and loose compared to RB.

Speaking of Metallica, I really should try and get that secret Fight Fire with Fire bass score cheevo sometime soon, but I don't like playing bass on GH games, the open strums are dumb in my opinion.

I believe it's the toughest on-disc song for guitar, seriously. Keep practicing that outro, you'll get the hang of it eventually.

It's crazy how there are impossible rated songs that I can GS on expert guitar and yet I struggle to get 4 stars on Antibodies which is Solid rating. It's just the damn technique I need to get. I'm way better at Llama than I was before, it's much much easier to 5* on Guitar than drums.

Wireless controllers suck dick anyway.
They weigh a ton and drop out at the most awkward times.

Hence why the Rock Band Pro Drum Kit sucked major balls.

Note to self. Playing Mass Effect at a sluggishly slow pace is a really bad way to rack up quick gamerscore.

Got 40g from REvelations for scanning 15 handprints, getting to level 10 in Raid mode and beating a Raid mode stage 5 levels lower than the recommended level. I started the campaign on Infernal and it's plain bullshit, shoving 5 enemies (who eat bullets and are near impossible to daze I might add) together in every single cramped corridor with barely any ammo is a terrible way to increase difficulty. It's really testing my patience, and I dare say it's more challenging than CoD: World at War's campaign on Veteran.

Yeah stuff like that it is weird, doesn't help that RB3's on-disc guitar tiering is way off. Me Enamora and maybe Fly Like An Eagle should easily pass for a 4 dot rating, Beast and the Harlot should be in the devil heads tier and Sister Christian should be no more than 2 dots for example.

Llama is a right bastard on drums, I want to get as many drums challenges done as possible, but I can't play the song to save my life, it's way too fast me so getting 3 stars on it is out of the question for now.

Not to mention Lasso and Killing Loneliness have no right being Nightmare difficulty, maybe Solid at most.

That song took me about 1 year and a half to 5*. It was one of those songs where I just had to be in that perfect mind frame to play or I'd do terrible. Though towards the end of my last kit's life I was pretty good at it. It became rare for me to miss a note on that little intro.

antibodies update: i have somehow gotten worse at it

I've sorta got used to the weight now.

To be honest though, as long as the wired 360 controllers weigh more than the PS3 controllers i'll be happy. They feel like they could snap in half at any moment.

To be honest though, as long as the wired 360 controllers weigh more than the PS3 controllers i'll be happy. They feel like they could snap in half at any moment.

The analog sticks are also really clunky and uncomfortable I find. They also seem to get sticky way quicker than 360 controller sticks.
