Installing L.A. Noire, canceling all appointments. It's go time.

The guy at Gamestop fucked up and gave me a non pre-order copy at first, had to ride back over there to get it straightened out. I wasn't the only one they did that too however, even as I was walking in somebody else was there swapping their copy as well. Not really a big deal, probably like ~$10 worth of content if you were to download it manually, but if that had happened to anybody at the midnight launch they would have reason to be rather upset.

Also, now that I think about it, I haven't even looked at the achievements on this game yet fearing potential spoilers. In fact, I think I'm going to just close my IM clients and ignore any/all game forums for the next day or two. I realize many of you still have to wait till this weekend to even pick up the game so I advise you do the same.

I still have another RE exam, don't know why, 4 hours of it doesn't seem necessary.

It's strange how I'm not missing my Xbox all that much, I've somehow managed to lock myself in a revision mindset, which I guess is pretty good. I'd still like to get into some BC2 again though, that's probably the part I'm missing most.

When BF3 comes out we all need to get into some games and that.

Uhh, I've just finished up the second case as a detective and I've already got 195g without actually checking the achievements. I don't know how close I am to moving onto the second disk but I don't think I'm that far along.

Have you been getting 5 star ratings/finding all the evidence and not fucking up on interrogations? I've gotten odd combat achievements too like 'winning' a brawl while keeping my hat on throughout, I really should check the achievement list to see what I should be trying to do in certain situations.

I think the second disc starts after the third case as a detective, so you're probably just about there.

No, I've gotten a 4 star rating on all but one, where I got 3 stars. I've been finding most of the evidence (missing one usually) and I've fucked up a few interrogations, but not too terribly. I plan on playing through the game again for all the 5 stars later on, so I'm not too focused on being perfect at the moment.

Disc 2 actually started just after the first homicide case for me which is where I'm stopping for now, don't really want to marathon this game in one night. But yeah whatever, I've been taking my time being pretty thorough and I've got 330g so far just from the content on the first disk. You get a nice big chunk of gamerscore from getting one "perfect" case but most of the achievements are just specific tasks you'll get the opportunity to do a few times over. Outside of the main casework I've also been responding to as many dispatch calls as possible but those are mostly just 'THESE GUYS HAVE GUNS, SHOOT THEM' in various locations.

Blah blah blah tl;dr the game's good. The interrogations and cut scenes are the best parts of the game, even if it were just a movie I'd probably dig it.

I have no more exams this week, then my last English on the 24th, then it's half term, but I'm afraid I'll probably be revising throughout all of that, and I probably wont have my Xbox anyway.

When I'm done with exams and I get some money from my birthday (the day after they finish) and from my results, I'll probably be investing quite a lot in games, probably pre-ordering Skyrim and/or Battlefield 3. Hopefully I'll overtake Tramps again, because that felt like a nice milestone.
