Here's a chance for all of you Newground's Rappers/Producers to share you work as well as rate the work of other Artist alike.

Here's how it works.
1) You read this thread, the person who posted before you, check their latest song (or link, if provided) and leave a review here, telling them whether or not you liked the track and rate it 1-10 (1 being garbage, 10 being FIYAH!)
2) Post your track and the same will be done for you!

This may be common sense, but if you have anything rude or just disrespectful to say.. keep it yourself.
This is a chance to have fun and be heard, let's do it!

im pretty sure this will get shot down even though i know you have the best intentions of helping the audio community...

best thing you can do is review other peoples work and then send them a PM asking for a review back.. some wont do it but some will

Yes, I know of the Review Club very well. However, I this is different. This project is for Artist-to-Artist, Hip-Hop only. Either way, I respect your opinion and thank you for your input.

See this is what other people wont understand about hhp, is that when it comes time for people to vote there songs to be on top five they decided to go zero bomb the hiphop portal, watch next tuesday the beginning of tuesday what the hhp portal scores are at, then maybe 6 to 8 hours later chk them again and notice the dramatic difference because of the image ng has about us. o fucking negro music fucking mtv bullshit fucking ghetto music, thats why naysly and i came up with this idea one, plus 2 ill get reviews but sometimes ill get that trance or gay club music producer talking shit in the review section instead actually leaving a review. outside of ng we are know very well know rappers but we hate to see the portal go downhill, i like the review and voting aspect ng offers because no other site offers that but its the the shitty feedback you get from immature kids, what this site needs is better mods or an interview process to get an account like other sites do

Yo, that is very true. The problem is: a lot of the users on this website are children, and they have little or no concept of Hip-Hop at all. That's why we've created this project, so that artist can help each other along the way. When someone submits a track to Newgrounds, a Hip-hop.. the last thing that artist wants to hear is: "I'm not a fan of Hip-Hop, but this beat is okay." A lot of the Hip-Hop artist.. NOT PRODUCERS! are looking for feedback on their lyrics, not the quality of their beat, or how much YOU don't like Hip-Hop. I think this project is perfect..it's for hip-Hop Artist. Simple as that..

The funny thing is that serious hip hop and rap producers get pissed off about zero bombing on a flash video game site... Thats like if i went to a new york city loft party and started mixing barry manilow and getting pissed because the crowd didnt like my set.

so yeah heres a few reasons why your argument is futile.....

1. ZERO_BOMBING ... it happens to everyone.
2. ITS A FLASH VIDEO GAME SITE... i dont think many flash artists are demanding rap with lyrics about how rich you are or how you school n*ggas or how many bitchez are on yo dick.
3. You are uploading rap and hip hop to a site of video game nerds.
4. You are simply in the wrong market place with your product. Its like opening a cheeseburger stand in a hippie vegan commune.
5. If you really wanna get your music out there, play shows and get involved with a real life community that appreciates hip hop and rap.
6. Stop 5'ing your own shit everyday
7. Even if you make top thirty or top 5, what the fuck will you have accomplished. All you will have gotten is a bunch of pissed off 13 year olds that are angry that that their sonic the hedgehog remix didnt make it to top 5 of the week.

Now you may call this "HATIN ON YOU" but seriously i only upload my tracks to newgrounds that i dont use for live performances or real life money endeavors. The whole point of this site is to upload music that you dont plan on getting a substantial amount of credit for, unless you are creating music for a video game contract. Its the creative process that counts, not your score of 4.35 that you wish was a 4.43 on a tuesday evening.
Creating hip hop and rap is fine but if you wanna get big on this site your going to have to take your style and make it fit in with the needs of this site.

Its about contributing to the community, learning from getting involved in contests, collaborations and contributing to community EP's.

But back to the point of this thread.
Many artists have tried to start threads that offer more exposure for themselves, producers in their genre and unknowns. They ALWAYS get shot down because without the system we have this forum would be a big audio adverts thread of producers spamming their work all over the place. And frankly no producer really is going to care about another producers music especially if he seems desperate for attention on a video game site.
When is the last time you visited the audio adverts thread and left some reviews?

There are threads on this site to advertise yourself like that of the underdog list, the audio adverts thread and the review request club. As far as im concerned that is enough... you really want exposure and good reviews then you need to be active on the forums, talk to other producers and get involved in community projects.

And as far as the bitching about zero bombing goes... seriously.. just shut the fuck up about it cause nobody gives a shit. Its about reviews. not scores.

I love how you say we all hate on you guys, but at the same time you're actually hating on everyone else on the site. So what are you trying to prove?

Zero voting happens everywhere, whether you like it or not, and it doesn't happen more in the HHP, other Genres in the AP have much lower average scores than you probably even notice, such as Brit Pop, Heavy Metal, Country, and Industrial.

My good sir, all I'm trying to tell you is that there were about 5739 people who had a similar idea before you. The advertisement thread was originally intended for this kind of thing. I support all kinds of different music styles on this site, it's good to have a load of variety. The NG userbase doesn't specifically target a genre to go and zerobomb. It happens, as I said, to everyone.

If you experience more 'zerobombing' in hop-hop than in other genres, that probably just means the majority of listeners on the AP is not into hip-hop. Simple as that. SymbolCymbal offered a good load of links I see. Check those out I guess. But I can tell you that a thread like this won't work. Not many people feel like coming to a forum topic just to go and put effort in reviewing other's work. Mostly people come here to get some help themselves, or help people with questions that take little effort to solve.

For these reasons, this thread won't work. Just review other's artists work and you'll probably get some reviews back. As for zerovoting, check the link I posted earlier.
