I'm never going to win this contest. I thought the best "undiscovered series" was a non-award winning category... and I lost that too. :(
It bothers me that animators get money for this. I feel that my contribution is being put aside when they talk about who "deserves" to win the money. They already get fame, awards, fans, can put in ads to their flash movies to gain revenue not to mention that there are several other money contests that only flash animators can win... They get all that and I toil away every week, year over year since 2005 and I got one contest that it's good for and it just cheapens my contribution for the flash authors come in and say that the searchers are nothing without their flash and, thus, less deserving. They can submit their own work if they want.
I'm aware that I'm the only person that seems to put a big level of work in collecting gems (not that that's ever helped me win), so I guess I am the exception in this belief. I may as well get over it. I do this for myself anyways, not any contest of recognition. I still wish I could do better though. I work so hard...
I have to say, this year took out a big bite of my "games" category for next year. Jellyman, Undead Hunter, When the Bomb Goes Off, Viewpoints (I really liked the style of that one), The Wizards's Notebook, The Best Year Of My Life, Me and the Key, Red White & Poo: Ep 1 and Great War of Prefectures are all ones I was saving for next year and those are the ones I remember as having saved. I can't believe how many games I liked, that were submitted this year. None of them won anyway though.
I appreciate all the games that you picked from my list Tom, so thanks. I was surprised by the number. Of course, I never expected so very many submission posts. I played pretty much all of the finalists (all except the F*ucked up ones). A lot were pretty good. I think you could have included a few more of my "series" submissions though.
The one submission that you never picked and I really don't get why was my Lab Series (episode 1). That is 12 episodes divided into 2 story arcs and is complete. It's so very rare to find a series with this level of quality and have so many episodes to also be done. I really think it deserves a series page.
