This is how I see the issue of gay marriage (I don't have a problem with gay people, I just don't support them in having marriage). There's no reproduction, and any intelligent discussion you have can be had with someone you are not married to. Similarly, marriage here offers no evident benefits that aren't available without it. Oh, and for the money thing, people could theoretically have a financial union that is not equivalent in any other way to marriage. Anyway, if he goes for divorce, where does half his money end up?

Marriage isn't reproduction, marriage is 2 people wanting to live the rest of their lives together and be a family. Though the family isn't like in strait marriages, can't have children unless adopted, it's still a family as they are married. However with a virtual character their is no wanting to spend life together or a family, as well....its a virtual character, isn't alive has no feelings etc etc.
Also the point about reproducing when married, a large percentage of people are now single with children.
The wanting to spend their lives together part can work for strait gay bi, any 2 people who want it, which virtual cannot want as it doesn't understand.

Also as a final point, people dont have to marry to live with each other proving your point about gays not having to marry, but at the same time people dont have to be married to reproduce and have children either.
