So I've seen alot of threads about how you guys love the History Channel so much and I just wanted to know what you like so much about the History Channel.
I personally watch the History Channel alot myself and I think it's okay. It can get kinda boring sometimes with all the World War II crap.
What do you like about the History Channel?
Just chillin' like always.

I liked that documentary they did regarding Area 51 and how alien technology from Roswell is the reason we Americans have the most advanced aircraft in the world.

I liked having moe than basic cable. That was kind of cool... but you know, not entirely necessary with the internet and all. But I also liked it when I actually had the internet as well. You know at my house. Now I don't have the freedom to watch the history channel or even to google the history channel at my own leisure. It's a pity really.
I liked when they had specials on the anciant world... Rome, Greece, Egypt. Very interesting stuff. But I haven't watched anythiing beyound basic cable since 2004. Those were the days. That was real history, my history.

Yeah for some reason they very rarely ever talk about WWI. Most of it is all about WWII. Like 99% of the stuff on the History Channel is about WWII.

To only reason I watch History Channel is because they show alot of WW2 stuff, and Modern Marvels is pretty good too, so they're just two reasons I watch it.

I liked the little special they did on the forces of evil and how all that influenced the invention of Darth Vader. I also remember where they were showing future weaponry and how there's inventions akin to the Gravity Gun or whatever it's called from Half Life, where with the power of magnetic forces, these guns can actually push forward objects weighing more than 400 lbs.

I swear, some times I think it's more like the Science Channel. They show stuff about the universe, the history of stuff about the universe, etc.

The Universe. Probably the best astronomy related show since Cosmos. Cities of the Underworld is another favorite, but I haven't seen any new episodes in a while, I'm afraid it may have been canceled.

I used to be a fan, that was until I realised that the crap they were rambling about like the End Of The World was total bullshit, they have the other retarded conspiracy crap like Monster Hunters, UFO Hunters etc. neither of which get anything concrete and I haven't seen a single Monster Hunters episode which proved there was a monster there. Then when they actually talk about HIstory, its either Ancient or WWII, or its about Christanity. From what I gather its made up of retarded white Christian Americans, the History Channel I saw in Europe (Viasat History) is superior in every way besides quality (of course its so good the quality doesn't matter).

Sounds like it's gotten worse since the last time I've seen it. Have all cable networks degraded over the past few years?

Can't beat Mail Call or Lock n'Load, but History Channel also has a lot of shitty shows going on. What the hell is up with "Pawn Stars" or "Ice Road Truckers"? I don't want to see some bullshit reality show on the History Channel...

At any rate, I love the History Channel. The "WWII in HD" special on right now is extremely interesting, so I'd recommend you watch it.

Modern Marvels is probably my favorite show on the History Channel. Also, I love it when they play Band of Brothers from start to end. That gives me something to do for an entire day!

I'd have to say my favorite of all their original programming is The Universe. I love how science mixes with history. :3
