Even when I went to get a drink at a snack bar on lake michigan, the sign said "Pop." I asked people about this phenomena, but their answers couldn't suffice. As we all know, carbonated beverages are to be referred to as soda. However, I am Atlantian, and a lot of Georgians refer to soda as "Coke," because they don't fucking know better.
So Newgrounds I ask you, what do you call carbonated beverages?
we call it pop because of the bubbles popping
NEVER FORGET
Contrary to your wrds, I come from Florida and call them sodas. It's just the way I roll.
I call them soda, so does everyone else here.
.
Pop in a can, soda from a foutian or bottle.
I flip flop between the two. Everyone in Pittsburgh says soda, but my whole family in Ohio says pop.
Where I am from (B.C.) it is most commonly refered to as pop. It's funny because first time I heard someone refer to it as soda I found it absurd. Calling it soda seems like something they did in the 50's.
I live in Northern California and call it soda.
I use coke and soda, never really use pop. But my parents do, they are from ohio.
all are accepted, but here in montreal most ppl call em soft drinks.
Club Soda / Soda Water is referred to here as soda. Everything else is usually pop.
I don't think I've said pop in a very long time though, because I haven't had a can of pop since I was about 13, and I usually get "fountain drinks". There's more than just pop in fountains, like orange juice and margarita lime.
I find myself ordering lime soda all the time, which is margarita lime and soda water, but not actually a Lime-flavored pop.
I do have friends who call it soda, especially when talking about vending machines, but they do it just to be different. I think I prefer the word soda though.
here in the northwest we like to think of ourselves as a little bit more progressive, a little more ahead of the curve...
we prefer the term fizzy dizzy drink
is mostly pop, soda pop, or the brand name
Faith tramples all reason, logic, and common sense.
PM me for a sig.
I call carbonated drinks 'soda', except for carbonated water. I call that carbonated water.
I call it nuts. I mean, CARBONATED beverages? That's just impossible.
Everyone I know calls them soda.
Here in Ohio almost everyone calls it pop. I know when I was living in Virginia I called everything coke.
So I propose a new one, fizzy shit.

Soft drink. Because in Australia if you aren't an alcoholic you are fucking soft.
Either soft drinks or fizzy drinks.
We call them by their real names, Coke, Ginger Ale, Club Soda, Tonic Water. As a whole though, pop is the norm.
I wonder why Americans call it soda though.
I usually say pop. I didn't think it was any different in the south. I always thought that soda was just an older term that was dying out.
Pop. But this is a stupid argument.
.
i refer to it as soda. Getting a soda can or a soda bottle. I will say pop sometimes but it sounds silly.

CAREFREE WHEREVER I MAY BE
Like most, I call them soda.
It's either called a "Coke" or the more acceptable term "Soda". When i was still a bartender "Soda" is the acceptable term for carbonated liquids
I think I flip flop.
