If you could charge someone for the skill you have in Flash, how much would it be for a simple five minute flash movie.
Movies generally do not need anyone to be payed because unless its a collaboration, the chance of more then 1 person doing the art or animation is slim.
Games are more then likely to have payments distributed because of the amount of time spent and because of the programming/animation distributed between the workers.

Me and my team have been looking for an animator for years, and even offered to supply all audio, art, and a few other things and people haven't wanted to help.
So either its me or the lack of cash. I tend to think people wanna capitolize nowadays. lol
Well, if you are contributing some art say.. background, and the audio, then yes, some supplements may be needed but some think that it all should just be a collaboration for animation, like free distrubition. But I love how it counters itself when they are doing the exact same thing for games.
Weird how this world is, eh?
Then again, not many people like collaborating unless its specifically for that reason, most are solo artists/animators these days. (Well, that I have been seeing)

Alot of animators actually turned me down because I was supplying art, can you believe that?

Absolutely, if someone gave me the art to work with i would feel like its a creativity block, id rather make everything fit to my art flow
nobody

So thats why...that makes sense. I suppose I just have to find an animator that doesnt mind.
Or, either collaborate here on newgrounds (or any other site, but NG rocks so stay here) or make a game with someone.

i hate it when im asked to do the programming for a game, but the engine has already been copy/pasted. Same thing applies for art i guess

Unless the art is in the form of sprites or the animation is a collaboration, you'd have a hard time finding one willing to do it for free. The only kind of person I could think of who would do it is if they cared more about getting experience and training themselves than creative expression or profit (which is what you're not giving them). It may be easier simply to learn how to animate yourself, or give the animator more freedom with the art.
I find it silly that some people don't want to be a part of something because they weren't involved in the concept art. I mean honestly, how do you think major motion pictures get animated? I would gladly be a part of a team of animators.

I think they mean they don't want to be given art and be told to 'make it move' via movieclips or editing the art. With real movies and shows, the animators are given models to draw by, but they still draw the art. This feels more dynamic and fun that just adjusting someone's art.

Oh I see. I wasn't even thinking of using tweened puppets. In that case I agree, I couldn't stand to sit there and manipulate somebody else's drawings movieclip by movieclip

I have been working freelance for a while now and I've gotten payed around 50 to 80 dollars per Flash, depending on what they ask for.
Some ask for professional presentations, others are for their master's degree or something similar.
I haven't sold anything such as an animation yet but I think depending on the specifications is the amount of money you would charge.
Some make real quick crappy Flash worth around 20 bucks but I would say for a 5 minute Flash in my case it would be 100 dollars, and it's pretty OK considering I have not studied animation yet although I'm in College studying graphic design and animation.
