COMPLETE edition of the interactive "choose next panel" comic
4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsThis is pretty straightforward. I'm over 20,000 words into a steampunk novel for National Novel Writing Month with a little less than 30,000 words to go. I've got most of the main charcters fleshed out, however, there's still a lot of room to cover, over which there'll be a handful more minor characters introduced to the plot.
When I say "be a minor character in my novel" I don't mean "and then Tom Fulp walked up to Joe Jonas and punched him in the face. MegaMan223344 laughed." I mean that I'll use your first name. But this is based on a few conditions:
That I haven't used the name in the story before.
That I haven't used a similar sounding name in your story.
That your name sounds interesting.
That your name fits with the style of the story.
It's very subjective really. I have to like your name. There's probably some bonus points if I know you and I like you. For instance, Lachie has made an appearence in my novel, because his name fit my criteria. Of course, he didn't ask and I didn't ask, it was just a name that I thought of and that stuck.
Now, before you go calling me lazy for not thinking of my own names, I'll just remind you that I've already got 24 character names in my story, in addition to place and object names. And the fact that I'ver written over 20,000 words in 15 days. I just thought we could have a bit of fun with it.
Please note that if I choose your name, the ownership and usage of your name in my story is mine, and the chances are that the character will act nothing like yourself. So if you'd like to see your first name used in my novel then just post it here. I'll let you know which names I use, and maybe a bit of character description if I've thought that far ahead.
Here's the link to what I've written so far, to whomever's interested.

You know I'd best be in your damn novel, because otherwise it will suck ass.
What, you want me to name a character after you with the name "African-American"? You wish, jellyfish.
Might have an SS Fyndir in there somewhere.
There's quite a few names that have got potential for my purpose. Not sure which ones are best yet ( might even end up just picking them out and popping them in when a new character appears.

Noah Moss, please? Also, since this is around the time of steam engine era, it might be interesting that I'm related to Samuel Morse.
Please disregard all of my pre-2013 posts. I was young and borderline retarded.
Elvis sound good to you? Or is that too odd?
I haven't come across a name here that I have used in my story yet, so that's interesting.
I've gone a little off target here and named a city "Dante's Hollow". Dante being the founder of the city, not directly relevant to the story, but present nonetheless.
Also, spelled "Lochie" wrong in my first post. Sorry about that. I'm actually using the derivative "Lachlan" in my novel, thus the mix up. :3

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
My name is actually Leroy. That's always a good name to have in a novel.
Seth's a good Biblical name and everything.
Feel free to use that.
I won't give you my actual first name, but another part of my name, as it has 4 parts.
How does Lee Wetzel sound?
How about Micah?
Its a biblical name of a prophet in the old testament.
