Oh Art forum, how I've dreamed for the moment when I may be able to contribute to you!

Ignoring that slightly homosexual outburst, and going onto topic now. I make shoes. I started this year and believe it is the greatest thing I've even done with my life besides writing. I usually make them from relatively household material, but coat them with a few things to make them more durable. However, all of my shoes are stressed to water, any water at all and then fall apart. I'll show you my first pair for now, "Late For Class"

The first pair is seriously horrendous... I get the idea you was going for, but that is just really messy. They look like they are very poorly giftwrapped.
the second pair is alright, but I think you should have used fewer different colors. its bordering on looking messy right now.

My shoes are all old ones that were soon to be thrown away, I recycle and use my own money or school supplies for their creation. I also don't have alot so they're made of paint, duct-tape and masking-tape.

Make a shoe completely out of duct-tape, then ill be impressed, becasue just anyone can throw tape on shoes and draw on them

you ruined perfectly good airwalks for this, i mean sticking ducktape on them, then covering them in paper and lobbing paint at em, then the same but writing riot, do something creative like draw a mural on them, take a lesson from the castle crasher shoes theres been

Made out of household materials? I take it you lump "old shoes" into household materials? They look like all you've done is just gotten a pair of shoes and covered them in duct tape.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I like them. They're different and have a unique style to them. Granted, I'd never wear any of these shoes if I had the option (I don't like 'distracting' shoes with bright designs or colors), but as something to look at in an art museum or maginize I like them. As far as tips go: try some new styles, be a little less busy with the designs, and good luck!
