I miss cartridges quite bit. There was just something about blowing the dust out of a SNES cart and shoving it into the system. Disks are by far easier, but they just aren't the same. :[

Maybe, maybe not. I like having games that exist long after even the company that developed them has crashed and burned. Imagine if Valve suddenly goes under, and everything on Steam is gone and wiped out. At least with CDs, you don't need to depend so much on someone else.

Also, discs are not that hard to take care of. If they're not in your console, put them back in the case. I have yet to ruin a disc from pure carelessness.

And lastly, a ton of money is saved from memory card/hardrive buying.

Very good points there. I didn't even know about this until now thanks.
Luckily this is the same for DS games so yay.

+ and - about both...

Cattridge + :
saved game on cattridge
either fully working or fully ruined

Cattridge - :
saved game on cattridge (bad thing when you borrow games and have to destroy a file or something)
may be ruined when not playing for a long time

Disc + :
more space
cheaper

disc - :
need memory card
may get scratched (happened with my SSBB and GHWT because of the wii) -.-

i love seeing cattridges today, they give me a good feeling of nostalgi ^^
tobad i have non left... i don't know what happened to my NES and i never had a SNES or N64...
but i was hooked on discs after i got PS1. i still got a fully working collection of Crash Bandicoot which i'm very proud of xD

I loved cartridges for the saving option on them, made the N64 amazing. But disks seem to be overall better, especially when dvds were brought in. If cartridges were better they would be being used but its clear from how no one uses them that disks are superior.

why are you even talking about this? we're in the newer age, where we download games and movies and such. Look at the ps3 and the psp (no i am not a sonyfag), They make more sales online than with normal real life sales. That means more people use data over physical disk media and such. Sure, if your console breaks, you're fucked. But we don't even use cartridges anymore..

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said, so I'd just like to say that cartriges beat disks any day. Thogh, I do hate when my SNES games won't load and I have to keep turning the power on/off or clean them with a Q-Tip and alcohaul until they come on.
