As I see it, you have two options

Option the first (and preferable):
buy a bottle of El Jimador tequila, limes, and salt. Take shots until you throw up and/or pass out. You will never want to drink again, until the next weekend. Do not do this in public or a bar, you will humiliate yourself. With friends is good.

Option the second:
Start off with some Smirnoff ice. It has low alcohol content (about 6%), and tastes like candy. Impossible to even guess that there's alcohol in it. After you feel it a little, move up to things like margaritas and daiquiris. The alcohol isn't so bad if they're frozen like a smoothie. This would be fun to do at a bar or club. Take it slow, like 1 drink every 1/2 hour so you can feel comfortable with your limit. This option isn't half as much fun, though.

As a bartender, I recommend you do a tequila body shot off your hottest girlfriend. Get her to lay down on the bar rail, put a line of salt on her stomach, the tequila between her tits, and the lime in her mouth. Lick the salt slowly, use your mouth to retrieve the tequila, then make-out with her to get the lime.

If you're looking for a long style drink, try a Bahama Mama or a Cosmopolitan.

With the exception of tequila, your opinion is shit.

Actually, there have been a number of blind taste-tests involving so-called "vodka experts" in which these experts chose low-grade vodka, like Smirnoff or Popov, over the high-quality stuff like, Grey Goose or Kettle One. These taste-tests show that, for the most part, the differences between vodka brands, both high-and-low-quality, is negligible.

Personally, I discovered this fact long before I came across the taste-test results - all of them tasted the same to me as well.

That's why I generally recommend steering clear of any type of vodka, especially for first time drinkers, since it is one of those "burning throat" liquors. The same applies to Whiskey.

In contrast, Rum doesn't burn the throat and would be better for a first-time drinker in my opinion.

However, I fully recognize that everyone has their own preferences when choosing their favorite drinks, so you are well within your rights to believe my opinion is "shit".

Anyways, back on topic. Just to let you know, you'll find alcohol to be very disgusting since this is your first time. Got it? Good. I would start with beer, than slowly move onto the hard liquor. Preferably, drink a few beers, than move onto vodka, or coke and rye. When it starts to spin, slow it down. Have fun :)

I dunno why you fools are suggesting beer. When I first had beer, I hated it. It's a gradually acquired taste.

And what's so wrong with being 21 and not drinking? Why is it looked down upon in our society? I have a friend who has been 21 for a while and the most he's ever had is a few sips of beer, and a couple of my friends make fun of him for it.

If I could avoid drinking alcohol I'd do it. Sadly, it's just too good too turn down.
