You can easily eat a meal for under $3, it'll be quite bland but it's easily doable. I could eat a meal for under $1 if I had to.

Pasta and cheese is only a small amount. I need fruit and veggies (which seems easy enough), but the meat is what screws me over.

All of the meat products I can find are like 4 dollars a package.

And I can't grow my own vegetables because we have to buy all of our products in front of her.

Buy ground beef, I'm sure you can buy it fairly cheap and in small protions somewhere. Or chicken, chicken is usually pretty cheap.

And remember, even if you bought say a bag of peas for $3, you still need to divide that by the number of servings to figure out the cost of one serving and that is how much of the cost you add to the meal for the vegetable portion.

Hey, I'm part time vegetarian, and I can handle that. Animal suffering is unfortunate, but if we want to keep up the current level of meat production; necessary.

Which is one of the many reasons we should cut down on meat production, but in no way the only, or even the most important one. Animal rights? What about the enviroment and people's health? I think those are a bit more important.
