I can't understand why games like GTA put cheats in their games if they always punish you for using them?

Sure if you complete the game 100% already you can use them but if you did that then what you need them for?

maybe next ALLOW use to use a code EVEN IF ONLY ONCE, without having to worry about making sure not to save?

How about instead, DON'T PUT THEM THERE in the first place (derrrrrrrrrrrr)

So what? You think you deserve the trophies/achievements even if you cheat? Make a new save and have some fun if you must, the cheats are there for FUN, not those little bragging rights.

How do money codes make a game more fun?

All cars are black? (I can see pink as funny but black?)

what about this is by far the worst offender because It says it there to help but if you save your screwed.

I'm willing to go along with any mad scheme of his just for that, let alone a track record that makes him seem more than human.

Just because you don't get achievements for cheating doesn't make it punishment. It makes it fair. If they allowed that, a bunch of people would complain that GTA is too nice on achievements since you can unlock them by cheating.

GTA was meant to be played fair and square. The cheats are in so you can basically screw around, like everyone else said. Just because you suck doesn't mean you should cry. If you want to cheat that badly, get GTA:SA for PC and use a trainer.. God.

There are plenty of other fun and useful codes in GTA. Like the flying cars, unlimited ammo, riots and exploding cars cheat (in SA). I think even the money cheat can be fun since it allows you to buy every property, gun, clothing or whatever you can find that is for sale.

And is it really that weird that you shouldn't save your game after cheating? Since most people are probably very tempted to cheat if they're stuck, being allowed to cheat wouldn't do the game any good. Perhaps they could've done it differently though instead of destroying your save file. Like the save icon simply disappears everywhere after cheating.

I don't understand this either. And once used, they nullify achievements for good. It seems pretty stupid.

WHAT'S NEXT? if I save the game and I never use a code it'll penilize me for saving?

What I mean is most people need to save but if you don't it makes it harder, so if you don't cheat it's actually harder too but really instead of punishing cheator why not just signify them as cheators? Everytime they play that game online It'll say "This person cheated this many times: (insert ammount)"

Codes aren't put in for the player to use during serious gameplay, they're put in to ease the development process (it's a lot easier to test the AI scripting if you don't have to worry about health, or to check if all the guns work if you don't have to go out and find them). It became tradition to leave them in the game in the days before the internet really took off, because they became fun little easter eggs for players to find and use, and stayed popular afterwards, even if they lost their punch, since they're posted up all over the web now.

I would much rather have higher jump and longer run, seeing as it's just boring running around not being able to die, sure its fun for a good 5 minutes, but after that you just ask yourself "why?". Longer jump and faster run isn't as overpowered as just being invincible, and gives you a little more sense of accomplishment when you beat the level, while also being more fun from the cheats
