This would be my answer as well. Be patient and have great scouts, rather than poach stars from other teams.

Sadly, most of the time a team will raise a promising young player and right before he turns the corner into a "outstanding player", another better team with more money will come along and snatch him away. It's rare to have a home-grown hero these days, sadly.
