150 dollars for motorized faders...wow.

I don't care if that thing lasted only 6 months, you got your moneys worth.

lads, I already did. I searched for HOURS, and I can tell you, nothing else comes close. This place especially seems to be selling them cheap. They go for 180 on average, with some places as high as 280. It's worth a buy, without a doubt I think.

Allow me to end this thread. I own a BCF-2000 right now. I cannot live without it. Motorized faders with a reasonably low latency (in the range of 15-25ms for me through USB using ASIO Multimedia) have changed how I mix. Mine was purchased last December, has not even one single hiccup in almost a year, and I've dropped this baby twice. No broken faders, no broken rotaries, it's beautiful. If you use FL, I can give you the exact process to put it into full working order without midi learn in under 45 seconds, or you can watch the video at youtube. Frankly, I would rather give up every other piece of hardware in my studio than my motorized faders and total recall.

All of that said, here's my only gripe. While it works superbly in FL in Mackie Emulation mode, it is not so intuitive in Sonar. It does work, and well enough to be useful, but some of it's higher functions are alot harder to get to in Sonar. In FL you can highlight a channel with a single button press, hit another button to go directly to that insert's 3 band EQ on the faders, hit another button to get to "Lots of Sliders" Preset mode where you can program up to 4 (I think) banks of sliders and knobs to any VSTi, VSTFX, or whatever you want in FL, then hit another button to return to mixer function, all without moving the mouse. In Sonar, the same two button presses take you to a much less intuitive 3 band EQ and a function I've yet to learn the usage of. But these are minor gripes and mostly my own fault for not reading up more on Sonar itself.

Awesomes.

I definitely think this will be one of the next additions to my setup as well. Great features... gah.. I'm almost turning into a Behringer fanboy if that's possible lol. If I get either of the PA systems I'm looking at, I'll own like 7 of their products.

I might get two of these in the future...maybe. Assuming I can get two of them.

They would take all my deskspace, but add quite a bit.

The only thing that prevents me from getting them is that I program automation a lot using orchestra tracks.

I actually got one TO automate my orchestral tracks. Record the notes on the first pass, record automation on the second.

Yeah, that is something I'd have to get used to. I currently am married to keyboard/mouse/GUI

I have this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controll er/home?O=cart&A=details&Q=&sku=456898&i s=REG

It's full featured, has a GUI, no motorized faders.

But honestly is a bit annoying to use, given the fact the minute you change "scenes" the faders don't move, so they are all in the wrong places.

I only use it for anything consistent and non orchestral if at all. Kind of the worst purchase I've made other than the drum pad I got (very non responsive cheap drum pad)

Ideally, if I had deep pockets I'd probably want the Euphonix Mix series, which I probalby will budget into the game company I may be a part of hopefully. But there's still the question of accessibility.

Control Sufaces make it difficult when you also want to deal with a MIDI keyboard in front of you. The "drawer" system helps in this case, but it's hard to visualize everything atm.
