My stupid piece of shit HD television doesn't have an audio jack for headphones. It has the SP/DIF, but I don't have headphones with a digital coaxial output.

I tried taking the RCA L & R audio jacks from the actual x-box 360 (with the HD switch turned on AND off) and putting them into my computer's stereo system in attempt to get the sound to play on my computer.

No luck. Is it because the computer speaker is reading digital sound while the television is analog? Is that even correct?

It's probably a matter of meta-physical mechanics. Before you can plug your headphones in, you need to realize that there IS no audio output.

Also you could just take advantage and set up your home network correctly in order to put these songs on your 360 console.

What the hell are you talking about?

My directive is to listen to what is being outputing from the television on headphones. Since my television has no audio jack, i'm trying to find a work around.

?

The xbox360 transmits audio information from the system to the television via the RCA red and white cables.

Why can't I simply put these cables into my stereo system's left and right channels to emit the sound from my speakers instead of my television console?

if i am enterpreting what you are saying to be correct.. then you need to have the wires that are going from the original device go straight into a speaker... like from the Xbox... you need to instead of plugging the wires into the computer or something... you need to plug those wires into a high quality set of headphones what use a duel input jack.. and then you will have your music for you too listen to... go to a computer guy with all your stuff and get them to show you how to get it done for your self

You should be able to just plug in and go, I have my xbox on a VGA out, and I didn't have to change any settings or anything. Double check your HDMI settings and also that you've not done something silly like plugged the cables into an output port on your hi-fi.

Man I thought this was going to be about transferring data such as MP3 files.

It would've been a good time to bring up X-Sata.

Thank you for being the only person with helpful information.

You're gold aura does not betray you.

Indeed, I think it may be something technical, thus I shall just contemplate getting a television with an audio jack.

Uhh, composite or HDMI?

Composite, buy piggyback cables for audio.
