Dungeons & Dragons

I really hope that I am not the only person who escapes this reality by playing as characters in a fantasy world.
I play D&D a lot lately, I play D&D video games, D&D facebook games, and I play the original D&D, and the new ones.

I find D&D to not only be a life changing, fun experience.
But living as a wizard fighting ogres and dragons is a lot cooler than sitting around, getting drunk, and getting high.

Do any of you guys play Dungeons and Dragons? I hope to death I'm not alone here.

That's a really pagan activity, my friend played it and now he's totally messed up dude. If you want to play a game with dice and stuff that's fine, just don't to it DND style.

I considered playing the MMORPG but I'm too worried it will ruin my life and take up all the time I could be spending trying to get better at Flash.

The MMORPG is free now, and it's not that addicting. WoW is an addiction, I played D&D online a few times long before WoW was an interest, and it wasn't so addicting, I didn't really LIKE it that much either, but now that it's free I might as well get it again right?

I can never get into D&D. It's too fucking boring for me to real the beginner's handbook, right all the shit in, the maybe a week later actually play the game, IF I can get some people to play. I try. I REALLY try, but I just can't get into it. I wanted to be a Warforged, because it looked cool, but again, all that reading was too much for me.

Do you have anything better to do than read it? I mean, you're posting on Newgrounds right now reading this shit. You don't have to read every word, read the important shit, the rest of the game is not difficult to figure out, but it is endless to possibilities.

I play with a few friends every now and then. We have a few custom rules though. The 3 big ones are Fighters can pick any feat as bonus, Tied AC does half damage, and triple critting your will save means you don't have to do it for the rest of the session.

I remember playing it once with my jrotc buddies freshman year of high school...

...I had drawn up this badass Ork character, and the scenario was something like, a bunch of dwarves were fucking with us at a pub, so, trying to get into the swing of things, I decided not to take shit and fight these non-existing dwarves, plunging our team into battle....

...long story short, I got killed by something that only came up to my knees, and it left a bad taste in my mouth...

After that, another friend tried to get me into some modern-day zombie survival "Call of Cthulu" variant...and that was fun for a bit, but I never got hardcore into that thing again.

I'd give it another shot if I were asked to, though....I have more fun drawing out my characters than anything.

It's funny that even though you're probably trolling, I do play a tabletop RPG called Cyberpunk. It's a really relaxed RPG compared to D&D, set in the future, but in my opinion, a lot more fun.
