What are you planning on doing? Recording live audio or using virtual instruments through a midi controller?

That made my day. Hilarious. :D
Anyway, the bulk of the NG artists use FL Studio, since it can be picked up easily but doesn't sacrifice the sheer power of a modern DAW. Not too expensive either...
Sometimes, it would rain men. "Hallelujah!", we would cry. Thousands were killed.

There a millions of threads for this man..
But Cubase, Nuendo and Ableton I use.
I started off recording with Kristal, and then moved on to Sony Acid.
I've used studio one too and fruityloops.
But Cubase has satisfied me.

Two wooden spoons and a paper bag. Sometimes I'll stomp on a toad for a bass drum.

Agreed lol
But anyways I used FL Studio to make my music. Reason is another good one and Nexus is good for synths. You have a lot of choices.

Perhaps, this can help you out: New to the whole audio thing.
And then, The Audio sticky
Or more specifically, Studios and editors.
I sure like to dump a bunch of links.
