I'm currently in need of someone who can learn, and become skilled in, the use of Smartfox.

http://gotoandplay.it/_articles/multipla yerCentral/

It is a Multiplayer game, not RPG, but has some customizational elements.

I'm currently working on a game using it, but obviously I'm no coder, so I can't do it on my own.

Here is my artwork for it:

Bear in mind this is not all. There is much more, if anything else is needed, just ask.

I need someone who can handle just about everything game-play wise. Which is everything.

Basically, all the coding is you, all art, animation, sounds, writing, managing and marketing is my problem to haphazardly handle.

Yet still we'll split profit 50 / 50.

It doesn't matter whether you code AS2 or AS3, either if fine. However, AS2 will be preferred since that way I can use it too, and make changes/do things myself which will lessen workload on both of us.

Anyone interested will be sent .fla and config file to see how it will work, and I will explain what needs to be done and how to do it.

Just to clarify, I plan to make money from this mainly by advertising revenue, however also hopefully some sponsors out there might be looking for a cool multiplayer game ;).

Also, I plan to host it on a site of mine, and if successful enough, enough people will play the game on my site to earn us more revenue.

Basically, this earns us more money overtime, but I got many tricks up my sleeve :P.

What kind of gameplay are you looking for and how does it work multiplayer wise, what are the unique features? Also mmo requires a fairly advance level of coding and at least one month worth of working time. So unless you offer a greater share of profit or pay in advance I doubt any serious programer will be interested.

You do realize that the programmer will be doing more work than you right?

Server-side programming is very hard to pull off, and you'd have a hard time finding people who could actually pull it off. And using AS3 for such a project would be much easier.

Nonetheless, good luck on your project.

I'm using Smartfox, if none of you have heard of it, let me just say it basically does everything for you.

No it doesn't. It lessens the burden a bit though.

All sites currently down. Deal with it. <3

(bit off topic)
SmartFox does make things a lot easier, I had a multiplayer game running I made and had people off of newgrounds test it.

I had it where you could shoot arrows at other players and they could die.
There was chat commands to change your size, kill other players and fun little things like that.

But I need a pixel artist before I can get started on it.

All i'm saying is it isn't as hard as you think it is if you put some effort into learning how to use it.

Amen.

I'm not even a coder, and I've done some neat things with Smartfox I never thought I could do.

So for a coder, it will be easy :).

Everyone above can smoke mah pole ;)!

Don't short sell art or animation. It's just as important and can easily be just as much work as programming can be.

Normally yes, but in this case, it'd require a thorough knowledge of AS and server-side programming to make something decent. And the way he said it, it seemed like he was short selling the programming.
