So, I reinstalled DOSBox today to try and run the freeware version of DOOM (because using the flash port just feels like cheating). I got DOSBox off of their official website, and found the DOOM files on some filehosting site.
I got the game running, and it played perfectly fine, but there was one hitch. It had no sound. Now, I have next to no experience with DOS or DOSBox, so I don't know what has happened or what to do. I'm still figuring this all out, so if anyone could give me any pointers, that'd be a great help.

I don't know if the freeware version comes with it, but there should be a setup exe that sets the sound device.

You'll want to use a sound blaster 16 as AFAIK Dos Box emulates that.

It should be obvious, but you'll want to run the setup in dosbox.
