What the Fuck happened to the Donkey Kong franchise? I mean just because Rare left Nintendo doesnt mean that Nintendo can just stop making good DK games.

I remember playing Donkey Kong country 2 on SNES when I was but a young lad. and now I have that shitty barrel racing game. :'(

Dad, I would of answered your call if I wasn't too busy beating hookers raping babies doing meth and skipping class.

He should wear a green tie. Much more fitting.

True, I absolutely loved that game. Shame I can't see Nintendo following it up. They'd most likely go out of their way to install a shitty Wii controller aspect gimmick. Ya know, JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN.

You don't know that the use of the Wii controller would be bad. When Nintendo does it, generally it works quite well - look at Super Mario Galaxy - absolutely brilliant game, and used the Wii remote in a good way. After all, with platformers like that, it's the level design that truly matters, moreso than the control scheme to be honest (as long as it's not completely retarded, like having to press every single button at once to jump or some nonsense).

Im Sick of all of the WII`s shitty mini-games! But we really need a 3D adventure game with DK for the Wii that takes full advantage of it's capabilities.

Donkey Kong 64 will always have a special place in my heart. The fucking problem with Nintendo is they've dropped the whole RPG, platformer and other good genre elements to appeal to family games, party games and games that train your brain, body and other dumb shit.

Nintendo did the corporately correct thing. They backed off from the market that would have eaten them alive and started to appeal to the other gamer that time left behind. This is all good in money-sense. None of the other consoles can be enjoyed thoroughly by all-ages like the Wii can but to gamers that grew up with Nintendo, knowing it was better than the Playstation, the Dreamcast and the xbox, it was a massive disappointment to see that they'd thrown in the towel making these types of games, to start franchising motion-sensing sports, only to release a good game every two years or so.

First party Nintendo still does what they've always done, and so do some of the good support companies. The most heavily advertised games though are the party and sports games that the Wii is mostly made as having most of its games like these days.

Back to Donkey Kong. I haven't heard of any good ones since DK64, there have been some bongo things from what I have heard but those do not sound good... at all... or like platformers. The series feels abandoned since Rare's leave, like they don't know how to make them and just throw out some crappy game in the hopes of pleasing fans. IT'S A PLATFORMER, make a game with jumping and punching!

They'll never make another good DK game on the WIi because Nintendo for some reason will feel the need to make it so you'd have to swing the remote insome way to dosome certain thing. Like if he had a coconut gun, you'd have to aim it with the remote or attack by swinging it around.

Hey dumbass. The Wii motion controls are put there so you can use them in games. If they actually utilized them well.

DK games are epic and difficult; therefore, you will never see another good one on the Wii.

What's wrong with that control scheme may I ask? It's not bad at all. It's the same game, only with better control f the gun. Also, this won't be a TPS, so I don't see what you're complaining about.

Actually, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat was a rather fun, regardless of it being short. The control scheme was so unique and fun to use. The game play was solid and the graphics were possibly some of the best on the GameCube.

However, I never played anything past that so I wouldn't know.

Prepare for unforeseen consequences.

Actually, using the WIimote to aim the peanut gun actually sounds like a blast to me.
At least, though, his games are timeless and have a high replayability. DK64, the original, or any of the DK Country games will always be fantastic. It's a shame we'll have to wait on fresh content.

As much as I love Donkey Kong 64, I have to agree. Jungle Beat was very fun and innovative, and I think it brought us a new Donkey Kong, that was more primitive and physical, but no less entertaining. I hope we can get a sequel someday.
