Simply said, what song do you think is the best song, that no one has heard of? So nothing like Metallica, Beatles, All Time Low, or any other shitty mainstream band. One of those bands with few plays on their myspace and pretty much no record deal. I'm sure you know what I mean. Anyways.

I'd nominate Texas Is The Reason's "Do You Know Who You Are?". Something about that song is so dark and peaceful, I could listen to it 100 times in a row and not get sick of it.

I really couldn't see myself saying I'm the only one to know about a particular band.
But... Lost In Moments by Ulver is one great title from a great album that should get more plays
The album is named Perdition City

But every song has been heard of unless the authors had earmuffs on when creating/publishing it.

Personal Motto: I am awesome and that's putting it modestly

I don't suppose anyone here will listen to it, but Country of the Future by Mirah.

Mirah in general. She has a beautiful voice and sings each note so tenderly.

everything was beautiful and nothing hurt

Thread title makes no sense. If no one has heard of it then how can anyone know? Unless it is just lyrics and notes on paper...

It is a figure of speech used to imply that relatively speaking, very few people have heard the song. Consider it a form of exaggeration. Don't feel bad that you misinterpreted it, no language is easy to figure out when it is not your native tongue.

Casuality by Snake River Conspiracy is pretty interesting. More than anything it's pretty weird.

Geeksong by Extasick is utterly awesome.

New Millenium Cyanide Christ by Meshuggah. It sounds rather cacophonous when you first hear it, but there is some order among the chaos.

To be honest, I couldn't limit myself to one song. Each song has it's own little good point and bad points. I mean, there's Lazarus by Porcupine Tree, Transcend by Jean Baudin, Hello and Cloudy Now by Blackfield, Turn by Feeder (a bit main-stream, but I don't think they're that well known, I think) and Without You by Badfinger. There's some songs off the Silent Hill 3 and most of the songs off the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack that I consider great. There's Beyond The Realms Of Death, Diamonds And Rust and A Touch Of Evil by Judas Priest. Not to mention, there's also You'll Never Take Me Alive, We Know Where You Sleep, Said The Spider To The Fly and A Little Place Called Trust by The Paper Chase.

There may be more, but I just can't boil it down to just one song no one has heard of that I feel is better than the others.

Swallow your sugar pills, inject your saline, breath in some hydroxide mist and have a nice day.

I'd have to say Aerodynamic, by Daft Punk.

Well, I'm not sure if that count as an unknown band, but it was unknown to me until about 5 weeks ago.

It's just been one of my favourite songs by Daft Punk for the past eight years...

Anywho, I'd suggest 'Stay Away From Me' by The Living End, off their 1996 EP 'It's for your own good', but I couldn't find it on youtube. Their singing's improved a lot since back then, but the instrumental talent's been kickass from the start. Upright bass riff kicks ass. Rock and roll, baby, rock and roll.

Then I thought of another awesome song that not many people have heard of. So I thought 'Stop Breathing' by Augie March, off their 1998 EP 'Thanks for the memes', but I couldn't find it on youtube either. If you ever manage to wrap your ears around either song (particularly the latter), you won't regret it.

So then I went with something I knew I could find on youtube. Evol Intent's 'The Curtain Falls' off their 2007 album 'Era of diversion'. It's really interesting sounding IDM, very atmospheric stuff. I had the album, but never listened to it much, and one day I just oncovered this little gem and it's been a favourite ever since.

Linkage.
