Im getting gauges

I'm getting gauges and i am going to pierce my ears tomorrow myself using a needle. im doing it with a friend who has peirced multiples peoples ears so she should know what shes doing.

I'm just wondering if i do it myself it could get fucked up and infected? Also do gauges in genral have a tendicy to get infected? what are different sizes i can get? And after i take them out how long will it take to go back to normal?

... i pretty much want to know as much info as i need to to have properly gauged ears without them getting fucked up and what you people think about gauges.

Good luck with getting those things in your ears, although I hear that you can't get them out for a while. If you do get them though, don't be crazy and have your ears stretched to the limit, that always looks weird.

i wasn't planning on doing it to the extreme i just plan on doing maybe a smaller size because i like the way they look

when you say gauges, are you talking about stretching your ear? because if so, ive stretched mine to a size 11. it looks good but you've got to keep it clean or it'll smell a bit.

Fun fact, after a while the flesh will begin to rot. It won't be noticeable, but you'll be able to smell it. Especially considering you can clean them very easily.

No, they don't have a tendency to get more infected. Most people usually start out with a very small piercing, if not a regular earring. Then they build up to larger sizes.

Generally, your ear won't go back to being completely healed. But it depends on how old you are when you pull them out, how long you've had them in, and how far you've gone. If they're pretty small, you're young, and they haven't been in there too long, you got a good shot at them closing completely.

the only time they get infected is when people are lazy and don't keep them clean. its an open wound and you have to keep it free from bacteria.

DO WHAT I DID! get your ears pierced as an 8 or a 6 gauge. Then start going up in about a month. Then every time your ears get soft keep on going up and up (i got them up to 5/8ths in 5 months XD)

You need to sterilize your piercing instruments
and push the earing through before it bleeds

the piercing you put in should be a size 18 or 16 as a starter size, then you should wait up to 6 weeks for it to heal cleaning it with anti bacterial soap.

When it heals you can get tapers or what ever you want to call them to stretch them from 16 to 14 or skip sizes and go 16 to 12, sizes come in even numbers.

You can go to a size zero with it being able to grow back
and its not more of worry of a gauge getting infected but if you stretch your ears to fast after each one you can have a blow out and your ear will look like a cats ass

All piercings have a chance of being infected, just make sure to be careful while doing at it. If you get anti-biotics the infection will go away.
