I don't remember what model my first computer was, but I do remember having to type in "c:/win" in order to start it up.

Also, I remember playing a LOT of SkiFree and Chip's Challenge.

I don't remember it much but I do remember that it was slow, and old. It also had dial up.

Ah, I remember it so well. It was a Windows 3.1 and I thought it was amazing because it had upgraded memory. 8 MBs! Whilst everybody else only had 4. Suckers!

You had to type all commands into DOS to run programs, of which there were about 20 to chose from.

I'm just glad technology has moved on. Now that I build computers for a living, you should see what I'm running on now!

Ah, yes. I had an ancient office computer I got a garage sale for the price of exactly $2.35, which happened to be all the money I had at the time.

Looking back, I used it a bit too long. DOOM was always fun, nonetheless.

My first? Something I forgot the specs of running windows 98. It rarely ever crashed, and, amusingly, had a broadband connection in the 90's.

I remember distinctly that it ran OS 8, but other than that, nothing.
I used to play these two awesome Winnie The Pooh and Magic School bus games on it, even though they froze up a lot. :3

Memories.

couldnt find a picture, but I think the brand was Compaq Presario and it had speakers on the sides of the monitor
it ran windows 95 and I played putt putt on it, then we got a new PC with windows 98 and it didnt run putt putt anymore...
we kept that for lots of years, even installed XP on it later, then we got another PC wich was huge (it had a tv tuner)
after, we got a really bad pc, first the salesman said you couldnt upgrade the CPU... altough you can with AMD! then he said vista was actually a good operating system without bugs and my parents believed that, and he sold us an ASUS EAH 3650 graphic card, wich started functioning right yesterday when I installed windows 7 (crysis on very high!!!).

because vista sucked so bad, I purchased a macbook a couple of months ago, its the most awesome machine, but I really miss gaming... and I cant get bootcamp to partition because my hard drive is fragmented too much...

I still have my first computer. I remember the specs for it pretty well:

AMD Sempron @ 1.00GHz
256MB RAM
80GB HDD
Integrated motherboard and so on
Windows XP Home 32 Bit

It's slow as shit, but I'm tempted to upgrade it slightly. Some extra RAM would possibly make it bearable to use. It's from about 2004, and my family spent £800 on it. Complete rip off. I have the monitor from it set up with my laptop for a second screen. It was probably the best part of it. It's 17", and displays at 1024x768.

That's just some image I pulled from Google, but yeah, that's the type of computer I had.

CGA graphics, 10MB hard drive, 360KB floppy drive, 256KB RAM, 9600 baud modem.

THE PINNACLE OF TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT lol.

...

I remember leaving the screws off the case because often when I'd boot the computer the hard drive would fail to spin and the system would boot straight into BASICA as if no drive were present. So I'd boot it up with the cover off, shaking the hard drive around as I flipped the 'on' switch as a way to jump-start it. Aaaaaand that eventually stopped working too.

I actually still have files for some of the old BASIC programs I wrote back then.
