Time to get rough, boys and girls.

Like American Football? No? Good, because this is a lot better! Take control of a team from one of the 8 races available (Humans, Orcs, Goblins, Chaos, Lizardmen, Dwarves, Wood Elves and Skaven) and set your battle lines. Get the ball to the end zone and score touchdowns, while the hard hitting blitzers and blockers on your teams attempt to reduce the enemy to pate.

Have you got what it takes to rise to the top and claim the glory?

Basically, if you play and you fancy a game, stick some details here and I'll see if we can get some carnage sorted. I'm currently enjoying playing as my Lizardmen team (4 Skinks, 6 Saurus, 1 Kroxigor) and if we can hospitalise a few opponents during a game, we're doing well.

I've managed a few killing blows as well >:)

LET THE MAYHEM COMMENCE!

"Nerdy" attachments for a "jock" game? What the fuck went into the developers to make this abomination.

Swallow your sugar pills, inject your saline, breath in some hydroxide mist and have a nice day.

The fact that it was created as a model based game about 20 years ago and they tried to make a VG of it badly some years ago. Now that they've finally done it right, it's awesome and violent.

Once I get 50 dollars.

Also: How exactly does the gameplay work? Is it dice based or like a madden game?

You can do turn based, on the dice rolls, where you have to play percentages and get as many people around the intended victim in order to increase your chances of kicking his teeth out, or you can play real time, which is something I've not been brave / stupid enough to attempt yet.

Oh and look on eBay - you can get it for $30 from a seller, who exports through Thailand. Electronics are so cheap over there ;) The box may be in Thai, but the game can be installed in English.

Who do you play as? I've never experienced it on that format, just on the PC.

I never thought that a better tactic would emerge - when playing against Dwarves, stay away from the Death Roller and punt the runners into the crowd.

We just won 2-0 and killed 3 of them! Okay, so one dwarf got back up afterwards (darned apothecaries!), but we still had a great time.

I've just purchased this game for the PSP and seen the PC version of this game and played the board game... The PC version is more polished and I would expect this. The PSP is a good solid version of the game,. graphics a bit poor and pixelated but FMV intro looks fab. You can choose you teams colour in the PC version but so far the PSP has Red and blue teams. The video games don't have the full teams of the original boardgame, but there are the dwarfs, Humans, Skaven, chaos, Wood elves, orcs, Lizardmen and Goblins to smash the opponents to a blooded pulp.
Replay's can be annoying when you want to carry on beating others up.

Coop has in formed me that there is a dark elf available for free for the PC at least. I'll keep my eye's pealed for further updates

Dwarfs RULE...

Ah, I remember these Warhammer models in the shop when I was 12.

Good times, weird how they've made a game :/

That's about what you expect from Sony though - great on the graphics front when it comes to FMV, but the developers seem to have concentrated on the PC format for the main release of the game.

I think that real time would be the best for the PSP version, with Turn-based on the PC.

Yeah, it does kind of interrupt the flow, but I haven't found a function to disable that so far.

They said on the website that the Dark Elves were due for release this November. I'm just hoping that it leads to further teams cropping up. Everyone knows that the Humans are Empire, so they should have a Brettonian team as well :P

Dwarfs RULE...

Shut up, I know you'll be getting an undead team if they release one :P

Yeah, this is by far my best encounter with "The Workshop" as I've gone into that shop and come out with very little plastic and metal, while having a lot less money on more than a small handful of occasions :P

Well, they did a decent version of the 40k game, so why not revisit this one and make good what they messed up in 1995?

The developers are thq which have done both good and bad games in the past.

I don't think you can, but I will look into it... or read the manual.

Yeah, for example Red Faction and Red Faction 2 ;)

I've noticed the dice are incredibly biased on this game - I played a game with a 1,720 Team value against the Lightning Leaves (Wood Elves), with about 1,200. Surely, they should be pretty easy for me to roll over. Cue Jordell Freshbreeze, who promptly breaks the jaw of my Kroxigor and hospitalises a further 6 of my team.

I'm not happy about it, but quit without saving was the only option!

Any demos of this? I just found it on Steam, absolutely surprised that it wasn't just another web-browser game (which from the concept, I admit I expected it to be), and now just want to see if it's to my general liking.

I don't think that they're doing playable demos of it, but if you speak nicely to some people in your local Game store, or Gamestation, they might set one up when it comes out on the X360 for you.

I think it's due out at the end of the month on X360. Personally, I can't wait for the PS3 version - I want to play real time and my mates are the best to have that going - we'll get a league going there, I'm sure!
