You have to design a game with the theme "endurance" to enter in the competition. The 15 highest-rated entries will automatically become finalists, winners will judged based on creativity, innovation, use of the theme, and how fun they are to play.
* 1st Place: $10,000
* 2nd Place: $5,000
* 3rd Place: $3,000
* 4-10th Place: $1,000

Yea I just read about it. I have heard that contests are not good from a professional point of view. Just because your not guaranteed anything and you could (in alot of cases) make more money from a simple sponsorship.

Yeah welll if you lose and get 0$, then most people will :\
Also if you do get 1st place, you might have had more chance to get a higher sponsorship deal than that prize.

Thats exactly what I was saying. I know some people will see this as a golden opportunity but dont be fooled. If you make a game that's bad ass and worth 10,000 sure it may be worth it to some people, but what if there are like 10 more guys who have made games that good. All your hard work has now come to nothing. I say take your chances with sponsorships. In most cases you walk away with some cash if your game is not crap.

It does say you can submit sponsored games, they just have to be released on Kong at the same time as they are publicly released (which may or may not be difficult to work out with a sponsor). So pretty much, if you have a game that fits into the category, it doesn't hurt to talk to your sponsor and enter it.
