Server: irc.quakenet.org (or irc.webmaster.com)
Channel: #newgrounds.com (depending on your client you may or may not need the # symbol)

Come and talk about stuff.. how your day was.. cute guys.. nyuk nyuk nyuk.. bug the mods, or whatever tickles your fancy :P

For people who don't know how to get there:

You're going to need to download an IRC client for your computer, then connect to the server, then join the channel.

Recommended IRC Clients

PC: mirc
PC: firefox chatzilla
Mac OSX: Conversation
Mac OS 9: Ircle

If you're having trouble connecting, or need any other kind of assistance, feel free to ask in this thread.

Oh as for some general rules: Don't be a douchebag, don't flood the room. That's pretty much it.

Oh and a note from Malachy: "Don't be a moron: Copius butthurt in this thread may result in BBS bans"

so if you spam this thread - Malachy will ban you. Which means that Malachy also endorses this thread.

IRC is the most accessible chat protocol there is. There are countless clients for IRC, and all of them work with our chatroom. I'm sure that you can easily find one that fits your preferences on any OS. If you have problems with connecting, just look to see if the question has already been answered, then if it hasn't, ask away.

And that didn't seem to work. I'm using ChatZilla.
Is this an affect of being new to IRC,
or should this be working for me?

Try the URL irc://irc.webchat.org, then connect to #newgrounds.com. If you have Chatzilla installed, it should work.

I have no clue what you're talking about. This is the original NG chat room from 10 years ago, the one that was linked to in the java applet for years before they decided to make their own chat.
