Rate my site layout please? :]

So my website layout was a tad plain, a tad boring... a tad ordinary.

I tried this new design which I created in fireworks. I would like some feedback on it please. Also please be aware that none of the buttons work and I only made this front page t see what people thought of it, and if it looks good then I will continue making the rest of the site.

First off, i like the overal layout and look of the site, I think the header is a little bland (all the text is the same color as the menu which makes me not distinguish between the two).

But here is my main quam (and i understand you are not done with the site, so there is plenty of room for improvment) but i HAAAATE it when someone makes a flash site that could just as well be done with html / css / jquery / etc...

Now obviously you could add a lot of stuff you could do with how the page loads, the transitions between pages, stuff moving around when the page is idle, things like that. But because i cant see any of these ideas in action, it urks me a little.

For being 10% done, its a great start, but if you think its moer like 50% done, i would recomend using html.

So that look of it could definitely use some work...

And I was just joking about the comic sans,
just take a look at the difference:

Yeah I hate comic sans lol. I just had to write something out and as I have a windows XP laptop from 2002 and flash mx I have about 20 fonts which all kinda suck lol...

Also your comments dont really say enough about whats wrong with the site... 'Its a little too much'? 'No effort went in' - well thats bollocks for starters... Ignore the text in the box for now, tell me wat you think of the size... Dotty border, buttons...

And thanks for your comment. And to the guy above I have been making some transitions to go with the site and I want some animation thrown in between page changes etc.

But main reason im using flash is because I cant use html, so yeah, but thanks.

Oh, well if that's the case HTML is literally a piece of cake.
Do you know any AS2 at all? Yeah, actually knowing a little of that is
probably harder than HTML as a whole. Keep in mind I say knowing, though,
which means that you don't just have everything memorized.
I recommend buying a basic HTML book, or taking a basic HTML course.

Well, alright I'll be a little more specific.
I'm really harsh on the fonts I use and whatnot, and as I said above
the fonts your using aren't exactly the nicest. Both of them I pretty much
dislike equally, a simple switch can make a huge difference.

Also, there's currently only a single shade of blue that
looks exactly like #0000FF,
and to me colors should never be that predictable.
Don't go color maniac or anything, but some variety
in there could definitely spice things up.

And also, the cheap uneven photoshop brushed out edges
just looks cheesy altogether, so some form of structured design
to the site can fix the haphazardness of the whole look.

I Really love it, but you should make The nav buttons actually look like buttons. rather than just text like everything else. Maybe graphics, like pictures for the buttons? or a box around them? or have each of them be cardboard boxes with labels on them "home" "news""ect...". Maybe even different color?

I thought it was a fuckload better than your previous attempt but you might want to rethink some of the coloring and the buttons tilt looks bad. overall quite nice but like the other guys said, as it is HTML will do.

Here is something i was working on, only about 5% done and most of the stuff was just rushed so i could get on to making some actual content :P , yeah ill probably do my site in PHP or HTML with some CSS and JS but maybe i will just use flash because im a lazy fucker :)
