Ok so I just spent like one and half hours making something in flash. being stupid like I am I never saved it and I get a message that says "Adobe Flash CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Is there anyway I can somehow save the work? I refuse to close flash because I worked to damn hard making what I was making.

For the most part, no... you cant get all the work back.

If you were testing your flash along the way, you will have a swf file of the most recent test, and you can sometimes grab some ghetto information from that.

If you were making a game, you may be able to recover some of your code with a decompiler.

You can probably also recover some of your graphics by importing the swf into flash.

Long story short, there isn't much you can do, but you might be able to recover some of it.

Brother you are not alone. I know, it's extremely frustrating and you may want to pull your hair out, but the only way you can get that work back is by re-doing it.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL SIG. FUCK YOU.

Well, at least you learned a good lesson. Also, I've noticed that my redone work is always better anyways.

Yes that'd be very helpful. Where do you get it from? which flash will it work on?

I wouldn't like that. I don't do it often (actually I don't think I have ever done it with code, but I have with school assignments) but I have accidentally hit Ctrl+A then typed something. Of course I could just hit Ctrl+Z but if it saves just then...

Actually I just realized that you might still be able to undo after save if you can ignore the above(or just add "then the computer crashes" to the end). Either way, I just got into the habit of hitting Ctrl+S very often: before each compile, after coding a specific part(a function or something), and even when I pause to think about something. Basically, if I am not typing it is saved.

Actually I might be a little to active with my Ctrl+S fingers. I often "save" BBS posts and other stuff like that, just by habit.
