What should the Age of Consent be worldwide?

The Age of Consent is different from country to country. Wouldn't it just be easier that it's the same worldwide? Who decides these things anyway, and what gives them the right to choose? I mean like, how can a country like the United States of America have different age of consents from County to County? Doesn't sound very united to me

Where I am the AOC for both heterosexual and homosexual relationships is 16, except that between the ages of 16 and 18 your partner cannot be somebody who is has authority over you. For example, a 19 year old learner teacher cannot snog their 17 year old big breasted student.

And what do you think about big age gaps? Like, would it be wrong for a 35 yaer old male to have sexual relations with a 17 year old female?

For instance, age of consent in my country is 14. All relationships are allowed.
Some countries forbade homosexual relationships. To make things more controversial, some countries allow female-female relationships, but have banned male-male relationships. I mean, that's just stupid.
Right?

To be consent in some countries you must be married (Cameroon, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan and others).
It sounds so ridiculous to me.

'Age of consent' is a direct result of the perceptive morality of societies. Humanity is anything but cohesive when it comes to either perception or morality, so... good luck reaching a worldwide agreement on that one.

I don't think their should be an absolute age for it. If someone under the physical age of consent can prove he / she has the maturity to understand and appreciate the consequences of their actions in a consentual relationship, what's the significance of the date on a birth certificate anyway?

Furthermore:

In Queensland, the legal age of consent for anal intercourse is 18 (regardless of gender), while for vaginal intercourse it is 16.

In Canada, unmarried persons under 18 cannot legally consent to anal sex according to national law, although provincial laws may vary.

Paraguay sets the age of consent at 14 within marriage and 16 outside of marriage.

Anal sex is illegal in Tonga regardless of age and gender. (OMG)

Looks like you've done your reseach NinoGrounds. You should go around to all those countries and verify those statements. Have different types intercourse with people of different ages and genders and see which ones you get arested for.

thats a good question, and it should vary by someones maturity level, though 18 sounds like a fair age of consent.
