Watching TV earler today and on came some stuff about slavery and how the black race has suffered still for it, and how no other group or race has gone through anything like this. Well what got me pissed is that i am blessed to have scottish and irish heritage. No lets look back on my past and see how Irish and scottish people where used as slaves and when they came to america they where not allowed to have jobs, that they couldnt live in certian areas, they couldnt shop in certian places. Hmmm this sounds alot like what the black race went through. Now look at what is going on today and we see that irish land is still being taken by brits. That scottish people are still treated like dirt in europe. On top of all this Red Heads are the biggest minority in the world because the red head gene is becoming more and more dorment in the humen genome. So now i wonder why their is no special organiztion or groups or scholerships for just red heads. Guess we need to suffer for another couple hundred years...when do we get our end.

In my experience people always have something to complain about no matter what their situation is.

In todays times, no one person or group is singled out. Everyone segregates themsleves without the help of others and thats why everyone doesn't understand eachother.

It of course will always be brought up because it can be but in my eyes, there is no justification for it anymore.

yeah to the OP, the Irish used to also be enslaved by the vikings before then. and uhh yeah you know, black people were treated like assholes, granted, but come on a journey with me all those who are affraid to explore the race relations...

we enslaved africans, for what, 200 hundred years? ok now, come furthur with me. all race issues asside, who want to live in modern day africa? show of hands, anyone?

ok so, the african race was enslaved for 200 years, and now their ancestors have equal rights and a far better life then theyd have if they had stayed in africa, so, a few generations were fuked over hard, granted, but, it ensured a happy future over all.

that also being said, back to the op, the irish have always been fucked with, even today, the irish have been fighting off the english for roughly 800 years formally, and we're talking people just randomly murdered, raped, and the left overs forced to fight other irish and scottish troops.

so in summation, yes, black people had it hard, along with..

- the jews
- the irish
- the native amerians
- the aztecs
- the mayans
- the Polynesians
- Asian Sweatshop workers
- etc etc etc etc

You know what I learned in sociology? The reason white Americans imported African slaves is because the Native Americans they captured kept escaping. Knew their own land too well, apparently. And for the record, Native tribes were systematically decimated for centuries - from Jamestown all the way up to the early 20th century.

they also imported African slaves because, the native Americans weren't used to the eastern diseases, were as Africa has had a lot of interaction with Europeans beforehand.
also they were incredibly easy for slavers to get more slaves because all they had to do was offer weapon and/or other valuables and the tribes would just enslave people in an opposing tribe, its quite fucked up to be honest.

The truth is Native Americans were more intelligent than the white man gave them credit for, the lived a different lifestyle that whites still dont consider a successful lifestyle, and were therefor savages.

and the native americans werent the push overs everyone thinks they were, 3 indians hiding in the woods with sticks could do more damage than 10 men with muskets, and an Apachi could put 5 knives in you from their horse without you getting off a shot with a musket.

the truth is, and i say this being white and indian, the whites lived in close proximity which lead to a rich exchange of ideas, and therefor rapid growth. this also lead to disease, as the europeans farmed animals, which the indians didnt do, and the europeans lived in close proximity, which the indians didnt, and this european close proximity living also led to a superiority complex, and a general fear of outsiders, who were in general to be less educated and less governed, which to an extent they were.

so, they tried to kill the indian, they were outmatched, they tried to to over run the indian with numbers, which they did, but ultimately, the europeans killed the indians simply,by being dirtier than them, and killing them with germs.im done

the truth is, all peoples on earth have been enslaved, whites and blacks alike, probably back to caveman days, actually, the only difference is the black people were the last people to be enslaved, so its a huge deal, aparently.

[ everybodies ancestors struggled, in their own way, africans got enslaved for 200 some ought years, white people got the plague in the dark ages, and it came back in some form or another every generation until the 1700's ]
