I'm using Windows 7, and Firefox 3.5.4.... To my knowledge I haven't changed any settings in firefox since yesterday, but today it's clearing my cookies every time I close the browser.

And yes, I've checked to make sure that "clear history when browser closes" in the options menu is disabled. It's disabled.

:\

My history and saved passwords and things are being kept though. Just cookies are going.

You might check Tools>Options> Privacy Tab and make sure those cookies settings are still the same; "Accept Cookies from site", "Keep until", etc.

If that's okay, then type about:config in your URL. Type 'cookies' in the filter and go to "privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies" and set that to "False" and see if that does anything.

Okay, privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies was set to true, so I changed it to false, and it's still doing it. privacy.cpd.cookies I also changed to false.

It's not one of the standard options in tools thats the problem.

IDK.

Oh and also windows did have an update the other day so that may be the reason why.

It could be a third party software that might be removing your cookies, especially if you use CCleaner or other programs of that type. You might look into that.

As far as the update interfering with cookies I highly doubt it unless something specifically messed with the cookies.sqlite file. You can try and delete that file and see if it will reinstate your options.

Exit out of FF
Go to Run....
Type %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Look in the default folder
Find cookies.sqlite and delete it.
When you restart FF, it will regenerate the file as you browser wherever.
