hello gentlemen, i've been saving money for about 3 years now and have gotten about $5000. I want to build myself a new computer, but i don't what mother board to get. Now i need an awesome one for under $3000; any suggestions???
For that much, I recommend getting a core i7 build, with an HD Radeon 5870 in crossfire. With that EVGA Extended ATX motherboard.
Note: If you wanna use Linux or BSD get nVidia instead.
Hell, you'll probably still have some left over for a decent SSD with the latest firmware. Hold up, let me build it for you, I wanna see how orgasmically powerful you can build a computer for under 3k. o_o;
Just checked, it doesn't even go up to 3k just yet (as long as you can overclock) c_C
If you don't plan on getting a high capacity HDD, I'd recommend an SSD that fits your needs in terms of capacity, but if you play a lot of games, multimedia, graphical design I recommend at the very least a 500 GB HDD or bigger.
Also, check reviews if you decide to get an SSD, check if they have the latest and best firmware available. Last thing you need is crippled speed, low life-span, and stuttering o_O
