So I got a domain from yahoo and just got a web hosting from Downtown Host.. I'm very new to this and I'm so confused lol and I thought I did my research already. I know you have to connect them together by going to your DNS in your domain DNS Management section and then connecting it to your hosting ip. Right now I can't find the fucking ip host address and I'm trying to connect to cpanel which gives me this random message - Secure Connection Failed , etc with other text. I'm so confused and my head is going to explode hahaha.

If I can get some help , would appreciate it.

You'll first need to login to your downtownhost.com account, or the welcome email and you'll hopefully found some nameservers. They'll look something like "ns54.downtownhost.com", there should be two. Now login to your account at yahoo and select the DNS section, there should be an option to set the namservers, add the ones from the above step here. Now you'll have to wait, it depends upon you ISP and yahoo how long it takes, but it should be quite fast. Once this step is completed your domain will point to the downtownhost.com server, once that is done you can Login.

For the sake of including the information, you login to cpanel at http://YOURDOMAINHERE.COM:2082 with the information provided in your welcome email (or downtownhost.com account section).

hahah you sneaky beaver. But the statues says pending and I'm guessing I have to wait until I get my nameserver? I already paid for it. I can't find it anywhere...

Do you mean your account is pending? That means the host (downtownhost) have yet to approve your account (fraud prevention probably) so you'll have to wait, when they approve it they'll send you the nameservers and enable the account for you.

Should be soon :)

ftp (file transfer protocol) is for uploading files. You can easily create an FTP account from inside cPanel, although it isn't necessary. If you want to use a browser based file uploader, just select "file manager" from cPanel and stuff your files into the public_html folder, otherwise select the FTP section and create an account then use your favourite FTP client (filezilla is nice) to login and transfer the files.
