I just thought about this... 10 seconds ago.

I think it's kind of selfish to have a kid, I mean, yeah, we need to reproduce.
But what if they don't want to live?

I spend every day of my life wishing that I had never been born, and I think to myself, if you're not a human by mistake, your parents planned on having you, because they wanted a kid, they wanted something in their lives, by bringing in another life.
And once their child grows up, they may not want to live.
I think child birth is the most selfish thing in the world, and they say suicide is.

It is and isn't in my opinion. I believe it's pretty acceptable sometimes.

You can't affect whether or not you are born. it's not like you can pick whether you want to live or not.

Besides, it's really your choice to live or not after the fact.

Yeah, maybe it is just the life I've lived, in my circumstances.
Some people have it worse and some have it better than others, so I guess that would affect the kids will to live or not...
I still think it's selfish, if you're going to have a kid you should be able to promise it a good life and live up to it.
If I ever have a kid I'm sure as hell giving them a much better childhood than my pathetic ass got.

But what if they would have loved every second of their life, but they were never born because their parents were of the same mindset as you? At least once you're born you can get a taste of life and then decide for yourself how much it sucks.

Your way of thought seems more selfish to me because it robs potential children of the ability to decide for themselves.

It's not selfish I'd be doing a potential kid a favor by not having one. At least if they're never born they have a zero percent chance of hating the world.

It's not selfish.

It would ONLY be selfish if the kid that would be born could immediately think, and would know the world.

Then it could say "FUCK YOU, I don't want to live"
A kid however, doesn't know the world, doesn't know life, and therefore, cannot not want it!

You can't not like something you don't know yet...

What if they do want to live? A large percentage of people are happy they were born. In fact, only depressed people usually act is if they wish they were never born. Trying to rationalize your depression is fine, but these types of thoughts aren't something that many think about.

I spend every day of my life wishing that I had never been born, and I think to myself, if you're not a human by mistake, your parents planned on having you, because they wanted a kid, they wanted something in their lives, by bringing in another life.

I think child birth is the most selfish thing in the world, and they say suicide is.

If your parents bring you into this world, they are not being selfish. Many give up what they want to provide for you. To take care of you. Bringing a life into this world is what people do out of love, if in fact it's not a mistake.

Suicide hurts many people. It is a choice that is made by someone who is with many problems. Suicide hurts those people who have brought you into this world. For the most part. Unless you're family hates you. Which isn't insanely common.

sorry but i have to disagree. i mean yeah some people get served shit on a plate in life, but its not the parent's fault. if they planned to have you, then all they want four you is a happy life, and im sure they'd do what they can to ensure it.

unfortunately this isnt always the case but hey, once you've been born its a bit late to change your mind and crawl right on back in...

for the lulz

But they also have zero percent chance of loving the world. Shit I hate the world too, and so do most intellectual beings, but there are still moments in my life and special memories that make me glad to be alive. Clearly you feel things deeply, unfortunately all you seem to have to feel is pain. You need some love.

Yeah, it is selfish because parents do have kids because they want them. After all, a kid is pretty much a smaller version of the parent, because obviously the parents WANT that. I hate hearing about people who make out they have life so hard cause they can't have kids. Seriously, WUT. "Oh god I can't have kids, why is MY life to tough, I want kids it's not fair on ME".

But I suppose those silly poor Africans take the cake. Not only are they making their own lives harder, the child is hardly going to be the happiest kid ever. But I suppose it's not their fault they don't have little rubber things to but on their willies.

And a 100% chance of never feeling what the world is. Which sure isn't always nice. but it's not always bad. You would also have a 100% chance of never seeing what the world is like with one of your own little fuckers running around.

You wouldn't be so depressed once you have your own.
But i'll agree that it can be a bit selfish when you can just adopt.(there are plenty of kids already on the earth and we sure as shit have more the enough.) Some of those kids will never see themselves a real life with real parents, So do it. But also remember that some parents want there own flesh and blood in a child.

It's always a different story.
Stop looking at the world like we live in a hellish warzone that no child could survive bro.

No, it isn't freedom..
Because as soon as you're fucking born you exist according to the government, you follow their laws, you must live you life by what your parents say until you're sixteen years old, you must do this, that, go to school, be in at this time, don't do this, don't do that.

Where the fuck is the freedom in that? If there's one thing we don't get to experience in life it is freedom.

Take a boat out to the middle of the ocean, THAT is fucking freedom.

Lol the government? really?
Not if you don't have parents.
Not if you don't go to school.

You go to school to learn and master things you could be great at in life.
When your free you use your given knowledge to do whatever you want.

This is considered a privilege, You choose what to do with it.
It isn't don't do this don't do that. You are only thrown in school for a certain amount of hours afterwards you do what you want.

The whole parents thing,
Have a kid, wait till he gets to his teens. See how much he feels like obeying your rules.

You can take a boat out to the ocean on the weekend.

Perhaps the reason that you wish you had never been born is that you're insufferable to others as a result of your ridiculous pessimistic attitude to life.

For good reason. Humans aren't responsible enough to be entrusted with true freedom.

Because we'd end up killing each other way more than we already do.

You seem to have a problem with many things. I don't understand why you're crying though. Society was here before you. Of course you're born into a world were you are required to better yourself. Required not to break laws that will harm others.

If you have such a problem with it, kill yourself.

No offence, but do you have to be a bitch about everything? I'm sure your life ain't that bad. And if your life is bad theres always gonna be someone with a worse one. When you were born you didn't hate the world, the world is how you perceive it to be.

What if that child became the next president or something. Not having a child would destroy all odds of that happening. By your logic it's equally selfish not to and to have a child.
