This morning was no good, NG.

I'm asleep, all of a sudden I wake up, and the roommate's bitching at me, about the dead dog next to me. Half asleep, I had no idea of what was happening at the time, I handed him the dead pup and fell back asleep. Woke up later, came to the realization that one of my dogs was fucking dead, but I didn't really feel that bad, I never really knew it, I've been breeding and selling mutts for some extra cash, and it makes the community happier I'd guess, who doesn't like puppies?

How'd it die? I rolled over it in my sleep. I can't help but feel bad that I killed it, but I'm not ridden with suicidal guilt, I haven't been at all. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE animals, but when I had no intentional cause of killing the little guy, an accident's an accident.

Thoughts? Also, in before "furry", my dogs sleep next to me because they won't sleep anywhere else, the persistent little things, and I can't bring myself to put them outside (I live in a really suburban area.)

Picture related, that's the little guy about 2 months ago, still maturing.

Here's to you, Socks.

I uuh... killed one of my dogs.

Yeah ok there.

A real animal lover would feel guilty about killing an animal, yes by accident too.

Just make sure you look after your other dogs better.

How does one depose of the body of a dead animal? Do they just throw it in the trash?

Definately. It's hard to describe what's being felt, I am sad that the little guy's dead, I feel responsible for his death, I know I'm guilty, but I don't exactly feel it.

Everything, everywhere dies.

I'm just saying Rig, if you killed an animal, be it accident or not, I'm sure you, an animal lover would still feel bad about it.

Holy shit this has to be a troll. "Yeah I love animals, but when they're dead (i.e I'm done with 'em) I just bag 'em up and toss 'em in the trash, its no big deal, really, they're probably cool with it, they're dead, right?"

Jesus I couldnt ever imagine just "throwing out" the corpse of my family pet, just leaving his fucking corpse there on the curb to be picked up and tossed in the back of a truck with a bunch of empty bottles and old papers and packages and used condoms and all sorts of other shit.

You're not as cautious as me. When i had kittens i never let them into bed with me for that very reason. I even watched my step while walking.

erm, I can't exactly have them buried here, everything's concrete, like I said, I'm in a suburban area.
plus, the way I see it, after someone dies, they're only remembered by memories, and maybe their works. Since Socks had written no books or had any statues erected after him, the only thing his body would leave was sadness, and eventually a bad smell, no offense.

What the hell will keeping the body close by prove? It's best to keep him by memory, being reminded of a dead animal just makes me sad, it's pleasent to occasionally be able to look back on what a kick ass pup he was, not having to go outside and see his memorial every day, and try to contain the manly tears.

Mother-Fucker.
An animal is still a creature of dignity, especially a pet animal, you don't just fucking throw away a kitten/cat puppy/dog... you fucking bury it.
This makes me sad and angry at the same time, FUCK YOU.
I don't mind that you accidentally killed it, but throwing it away in a plastic bag into trash...
You sucker.

Guilt is a completely useless emotion. Empathy on the other hand is fine, and this dude certainly seems empathetic.

I once in some way forgot to feed my little albino mouse for a couple of days, you don't know how horrible I felt when I found out she was lying there... dead...
Guilty of course, I mean, I bought her, to take care of her, put her in a cage, and let it die there...

Guilt is a completely useless emotion. Empathy on the other hand is fine, and this dude certainly seems empathetic.

If someone came along and murdered your parents, your friends, and your family, I mean like really did this, and then just plaid it off as "Woops, finger slipped on my gun, sorry guy, but hey theres 6.70-something billion other people on the planet, why don't you go bother them?" How would you feel? There was another guy saying "all living things die eventually" - but this was a puppy, probably a couple of months old, if it had died in birth, before birth, or after birth due to natural complications, it would have been one thing; if it had died after birth due to illness or any number of illnesses or something (which is not uncommon when someone is running a puppy mill in their dirty ass apartment) it would be one thing, but this guy died because some clumsy fuck trapped it in his endless gelatinous folds and slowly crushed the life out of it. (Then posed the dead dog for a picture on the internet).

Empathy is just as much bullshit, because it's almost "I know I should feel bad, because society and its morals tell me I should" its like the halfway point between emotional activity and autonomy, almost actually feeling the motion and partially driven entirely by external stimulus as a cause-and-effect (i.e "I see that someone is crying, so I should go and ask them what is wrong."). Guilt has its place as an emotion, it drives people to change. if a person is guilty about something, they will work hard to make amends, or will work so that nobody follows in their footsteps and such.

Just going to point out also, that this kid is running a puppy mill with his friend, which are notorious for selling dogs when they are too young, which leads to them getting depressed, malnourished, and refusing to eat due to being improperly weaned from its mother, it causes undue stress and shortens the dogs lifespan. Dogs bred in puppy mills are also generally more susceptible to disease, generally don't live as long and are harder to take care of because of it, I believe.

I dunno I mean the guy seems like he could care, but on the other hand he seems so dismissive and passive like he just shrugs it off and takes another picture of this dead dog all posed like it's flying through the air toward its glamorous grave in a landfill next to all sorts of other junk that people once cared about. To me, its like digging up grandma, dressing her up and toting her around all Weekend At Bernie's style, then just leaving her on the beach and forgetting about her after getting distracted by some kid with a metal detector hunting bottle caps or something. I dunno. For a while on 4chan a couple years ago, I think, there used to be shock threads where Japanese women would crush kitten skulls and stomp on them with stiletto boots, and that shit got to me too.
