Worse. Tasers have the un-holy ability of causing instant paralysis due to shorting of nerve impulses. In short, it's a massive amount of electricity quickly. I think. If I'm correct, Pain from a taser is very quick (almost over within a instant) but incredibly harsh.
Those under the effects of the taser are paralysed but not necessarily in pain. Of course it affects some more than others.
Wikipedia:
"Tasers primarily function by creating neuromuscular incapacitation, which means that it interrupts the ability of the brain to control the muscles in the body.[citation needed] This creates an immediate and unavoidable incapacitation that is not based on pain and cannot be overcome.[citation needed] Many subjects of police intervention experience little to no pain due to intoxication, extreme motivation, or otherwise, which therefore makes other techniques nearly useless."
So. If you want to win a pain competition. I suggest dislocating a knee or shoulder joint. Which is incredibly painful.
Some poisonous animals also produce a neuro-toxin which causes spasms which can be intolerable. But this is normally reserved for old torture practice.
