Sesame Street's 40 Years!

According to Google it is Sesame Street's 40 year anniversary, unfortunately, I heard they're renaming the show to Sesame Park, or already have... Because Streets are dangeous. And Oscar the Grouch is nice now, and Cookie Monster eats healthy food, etc. They're killing me, but happy 40 years.

Well the whole point of the show is to help in the intelectual development of children who's parents don't adequately work with them. Minor character changes aside the show is still performing an admirable function.

Sesame Park? Last time I checkec, Sesame Park was the name of the Canadian version of the show. While it's great to see the show reaching over 40 years (that's over 4,000 episodes, BTW), it is simply preposterous that people are worrying about how the term "street" is inspiring gangs. Maybe we should rename all streets in the world or something?

My brother told me that Jim Henson made the puppets like that because he knew they'd have to deal with these problems in the future, like Bert and Ernie's implied homosexuality, Oscar the Grouch's abusive behavior, and Cookie Monster's compulive eating habits. Pretty sneaky, if you ask me.

Uh, I don't think Bert and Ernie were ever implied to be gay, and I really wouldn't trust this guy too much. I do think you make good points with the other things and it's sad that after Jim Henson's death, people are dumbing down his works.
