a question of Opera

The BBS posting boxes seem to really lag while I'm using Opera to browse; is there any documentation on this happening to other users, or any explanations/possible solutions? It's obviously not so bad that it stops me posting completely, but it's still pretty horrible.

I know that I could just switch to Firefox for NG, but I much prefer Opera's features and layout, and don't want to be running two browsers at once - consistent RAM leaks from just Firefox is bad enough, let alone Opera going idle and having a shit-fit when I try to start using it again, so I'd rather look for an explanation and/or some kind of reasonable solution.

Could be a caching issue. When I was in college they tried to explain all of this logic to me. About why the internet has to load cookies and graphics into temporary folders to run at run time.

...but I was a bad student so my knowledge about it is limited. All I know is, if your cache, or your registry and your internet temporary files are not clean out regularly enough your going to have problems.

If you know how to clean up these, then give it a try and see if there's improvement?

If not? Write back with your Operating System and I'll open up my old text books and scour for browsing related problems.

Alright, thankyou. Found my cookie repository, deleting everything I possibly can. Hot damn, this thing is brimming. I'll get back to you in a little while to see if I have any success.

That won't have any effect on the problem (removing cookies). The problem is, in my opinion, most likely (like, 99% sure) linked with javascript. I had a firefox extension a while back that fucked me over with javascript, it would lag massively because it was trying to do some silly things and the forms here rely heavily on it.

Do you have any extensions installed on opera? Also have you tried over input forms? I found my problem was consistent across quite a few websites, including the input boxes here on newgrounds. How does the search bar for the forum and portal perform, do you get the same lag?

It could be an underlying problem with your install though, if neither of the above are applicable, have you tried a reinstall?
