Hello, I'm David Mills.

What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a really good coder who can keep consistent and not drop out of a project once it begins.

The Project (Overview):
It's a game about a twisted circus, told from the point of view of a kid who wants to escape it. Once an acrobat, an accident downgraded him to hula-hoops, which he uses as a weapon. The performers are keep under serious drug influences to obey and perform like puppets. The protagonist is coming off the drug for his escape, and as a result, is subjected to a world of crazy perception.

Here is an animated example of what I mean ( cycle though all examples to get the best idea )

I need a coder who can bring thses twisted worlds to life, creating an engine that handles manipulation of gravity and character moves/attacks. There are also some sweet Boss Battles in store like this magician battle animated example here:

Sweet Boss Battle Example!

What's in it for you:
As coder, you get 50% of everything. Money from sponsorship, credit, the whole deal, 50% of everything profit-wise. Check my past projects and ask previous coders I've worked with, they will all tell you I am true to this promise and together we have potential to make the big bucks, and more importantly, a really sweet game.

My e-mail is: stabikaseries@hotmail.com

That's also my Gmail, so hit me up. Hope to hear from some people interested.

Also, you need to scroll down when it takes you to the page to see the swfs. Again, sorry about that.

In the example the hula hoops are really badly done and the Sweet Boss Battle Example doesn't work.

I would be able to code it for you. This sounds like a really interesting concept and it has a good story to go with it. I have Examples in my 2nd and 3rd news posts.
What do you mean by manipulation of gravity?

Yea, the animated example doesn't really blend the different moves together just b/c it's an example. I have made transition animations to tie them all together for the final product.

In my 2nd post, I realized the boss battle error and re-posted a link that works, try that.

By manipulation of gravity, I'm referring to the fact no matter how warped the ground gets, you fall towards it, even if its to the right or left, also, in the 2nd example ( the one with what appears to be a hospital wing background ) you will see walking into a wall makes you step onto it and make it become the ground.

Also, I use flash 8 pro, AS2, but I have had past experience with coders using these graphics with AS3 and working fine.

Oh sorry I didn't watch the first example completely. Clicked next too quickly.
I'm not sure if I could make him walk around the floor like that. Making him walk onto walls would be possible.

Change the hula hoops, put more detail into them so they don't just look like rectangles going back and forth. They should probably move quite a bit faster.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I may already know a way to fix them.

The amount of work you've put into this even though you knew there's a chance (low but still) nobody would do it is great. I could probably do most of this and I use flash 8 - AS2 but I suggest before you even think about me, do other people first, there's a big reason for it.

It really looks great and well thought. Count me in!
Something that confuses me a bit is how is he intended to jump in stages without roof.
If when he is upside down and jumps he will just de-attach from the roof and fall there won't be much of a problem, but if he keeps the same upside down gravity pull he could potentially fall into the sky or horizontally easily..

I knew this idea was going somewhere when you showed me a month ago. I really wish I wasn't busy and had what it takes for this, but even with my current experience I don't feel I could do it in a timely manor. The examples you've showed are excellent, especially that boss battle, that's some really sick work.

For anyone interested, I've worked with Millz in that past and it was good fun. We did Stabika 1-3 together, and he was veyr much involved with the design. Most artists get told what to do, then do it. Not the cse here, he's as much a project leader as the programmer, despite the generic roll of the programmer being in charge. Bottom line, he's good to work with.

I definitely think this is your best work yet; It's creative, well presented, and the ability to turn this into a full fledged game with no flaws at all is there, it'll just take some serious work on both the artist and programmer. I hate seeing the extremely high potential of this, and not having a say in it, kinda sucks haha. I definitely urge you to keep this project alive, don't half ass it. This could easily be your new hit, the game you become well known for. Even if you have to wait months, or a year, don't half ass this project, do it right or don't do it at all. Excellent work, good luck finding someone.

( wipes tear ) That was beautiful man, thanks! :D

I did find a guy who seemed qualified, and we're undertaking the project now. Thanks to all who showed interest, I hope I can still call on you if things don't work out. Thanks again to all.

This really looks like it could be a great project and I feel obligated to point you in the right direction. You really are in the wrong place if you want someone who is professional. Im not saying that there are not professionals here, im just saying that the bulk of people here are young kids who are going to slow you down more then anything.
