Melee Spam?

I just played the Left 4 Dead 2 demo. It was effing fun. I never played the 1st Left 4 Dead, so I can't say if it deserves full price. But, I found that the new melee weapons can be spammed. I don't see if this is the point, because IMO, it makes the game a little to easy in normal campaign. In realism mode, maybe it is needed so the game will not be too hard. What do you gamers who have played the demo think about the new melee?

They seem balanced to me. But if you find the game too easy, just put up the difficulty.

The first one is $15 and is pretty good. I recommend you try it.

Technically, the "melee" in L4D isn't really a melee, just a "push back". Looking at other characters, you can see that they don't smack Infected with the butt of their gun, they actually shove them away.
The melee weapons can be spammed since it's an instant kill, but each swing has at least 2-3 seconds of recoil, whereas regular "melee" takes only 1 second, and now must recharge after 5 swings.
