Newgrounds, I need some suggestions.

I'm currently beyond done mentally with my job. I've had enough of it. I know jobs aren't exactly the most thrilling things in the world but I completely dislike going there now, it probably doesn't help that my boss is a complete useless twat who doesn't know a foot from an ass. The thing is I'm good at what I do which is part of the reason I'm so bored now, and that I've been doing it since I first started part time working at 15. It's lost it's appeal and I want more.

Bear in mind as well that I get complete free access to the internet and tv at work, so while I'm there bored out of my mind I'm usually surfing the net - Just goes to show how bad I find my job if this extra bonus effect has worn off on me.

Thing is, I don't want a 9 to 5 job. I could get one of those easily enough in my town. I want a night job, the old graveyard shift job. Problem is the only jobs I can think of that are required overnight are warehouse shelf stackers and postal people. I need ideas, ideas on night jobs so that I can look further in something I may like and see if something is available in my area.

I actually don't care about the job itself just the hours. Weird I know but I am weird.

Thanks.
Please help me Newgrounds get out of a shitty job.

You could try being a stock person at Wal-Mart or something similar. They're open 24 hrs, right?

A lot of the crack whores and suicide victims do crazy shit at night, so why don't you get a job at a suicide hotline?

Healthcare, like nurses and stuff.

Schools usually have night shift janitors. Ha, I remember one died at night at my school once.

Work for 118 118 Call centre night shifts. All you have to do is answer the phone at night and tell (probably someone who is drunk) where the nearest taxis/clubs are.

Why don't you establish your own Taxi company which can do jobs overnight for a more reasonable fayre. Or work at one? Eh, i'll have a look. If I find anything I shall post.

be a hooker, they work night times, get paid lots, and get laid. hours are whenever you want, and if you get bored you can just walk home and watch tv//surf the net. in fact, depending on the customer, you can watch tv and surf the net on the job.

A hotel?

They need people to work in reception overnight to greet any walk-ins they might get, and also to monitor the computers if there's going to be a software update, and also to do various other administrative tasks.

numerous factory positions offer night shift, gas station attendents, you could go to your local radio station and see if you could intern at night, waitress at a 24 hour diner, the walmart idea wasnt bad, just try to find a buisness thats open 24 hours and apply for their night shift. your options are fairly limited.

What the hell?! I work 5 days a week, all my nights are occupied, and I DON'T EVEN GET ACCESS TO THE INTERNET while I stand around being bored out of my mind. You know how many testicles I would give to have at least SOME small bit of access to the internet during my job?! TWO.

Although working in a kitchen doesn't give me a lot of opportunities to surf the web.

So the company you work for only operates during the day? Can't you find a cab company that's open 24-hours?

I work 2nd shift (4pm to midnight) at a printing company ...and it's great! I'm online during my entire shift too (things like stickam, isketch, iscribble, etc are blocked though, boo!). But we have bindery and customer service people too, so that could be something to look into.

You might want a night job now, and you may like it for the first week or so but that shit gets old fast. You get home, try to sleep in the daylight, have a few hours, then go to work again. My dad works 6 PM to 6 AM and the only thing keeping him sane right now is that he works 7 days on 7 off. But, then again you might like it. I say go for it and if it doesn't work out you can always find something better. Good luck.

Do this. The money isn't bad, and the job is physical enough to keep you active and moving around quite a lot, but not so exhausting as to make you unable to move after work.

You get to sit around all night, surfing the internet and watching TV - and getting paid for it?

I mean, I know that you are bored but the job market is AWFUL right now. If I were you, I'd just hang in there for another 6 months and see how the economy goes. No sense in throwing away your job now.

Plus you Newgrounds time would go way down, since there's virtually NO jobs that simply allow you to sit around and surf the internet all night. Your job is the first I've heard of that allows that.

Really that job sounds great. I used to work as a security guard and my shift was 6pm to 6am but I had no free access to TV or internet. and working 48 to 60 hours a week made me start to go crazy I only felt like I was working and sleeping. I didn't mind working the graveyard shift I just wanted 40 hour weeks but that never happened.

Working as taxi dispatch doesn't sound too bad. I surf the internet in my free time anyway so that's a good perk. Also your dispatch you don't need to worry about the passengers trying to kill you and I'm not sure about the pay but who makes more money you or the cabbies?

My dad used to work 36 hour shifts with five or so hours of sleep in between, though I'm not sure if he IS sane.

I was offered the night shift at my golf course this summer but declined. There's something creepy about being alone on 200+ acres of open and forested land with nothing but the sound of sprinklers for 8 hours.

Also dark and scary etc. I don't really have a suggestion :( sowwy.

when you talk, i dont care what it means, shouldn't just stare at you, should i?

Dude, that sounds like a great job (had you not been in the midst of serious training). At most, you'll have to get up once or twice per night to scare humping teenagers out of the sand traps.

Even if they don't have computer access there, you could bring a book and an mp3 player, just hang out for 8 hours.

Mindless jobs are incredibly underrated, in my opinion.
