Well there it is. If Eve was made from the rib of Adam, isn't she genetically identical aside from her two X chromosomes instead of Adam's XY. If this is the case, isn't it technically incest from the get-go?

It is difficult for what is ultimately said to be the truth. In my point of view, Eve was concieved as same as Adam but using the rib as a basis for Eve; the rib being a symbol of the the "two souls as one" concept in marriage. With the rib as a symbol Eve was formed from the clay of the Earth as Adam was. So in a technicallity, it is not truly incest to the Catholic and Christian world. In a social stand point, relating to someone by the third branch and onwards can be considered unincestuous but first to second branching is not smiled upon by most. But the world is full contradictions, the Bible being full of accounts of incest whether it be for child bearing or sheer pleasure is frequent. There is a small contradiction also, with all of us being described as God's children, we are technically incestuous in a religious or common manner. So what borders incest and standard sexual act is quite debateable, so there is really no clear answer. In the end, we are sexual beings and stand-points about sexual morality will always differ.
