OK, so I have the menu to a flash I am doing. The menu is basically in three key frames. First key frame is the flash title with a play button, a credits button, and an "about me" button. OK so the menu, credits and about me are all the same just three different key frames right next to eachother.

I want a song to be playing as your browse these menus. However, when I add a new layer and put the song in it, the song just starts over again on top of the already playing song when you press the "menu" button on the credits or about me page. because it returns you to the menu which is in the first keyframe.

How can I have the song stream without it constantly layering over itself?

Any ideas and/or help?

You should set it to "start". And assuming the music will loop, select loop.

If I may ask, is it important that your menu be 3 frames long? Why not one frame, with 3 buttons on it, and some functions in an action layer? This method will definitely stop your sound from overlapping.

I tried that, but it still kept restarting over itself once you returned to the first frame. Thanks tho.

Start it in the constructor for the timeline class. It will only be started once, when the constructor runs.

why not make the sound event? please do explain why you specifically want it to stream. you could put the event on another frame before those 3 so it wont start a new one the whole time

I want it to stream so that the viewer can browse the menus and the same song is playing in the background without repeating or overlapping.

Well, it may help... or not, but I had a problem where my menu music was bleeding into my main movie after clicking play so I added a second frame after the one with the music and set its sync to stop whilst the first frame was set to Start: loop. Now no more looping menu music in my main animation
