Such a feature shouldn't detract from the overall online experience much, but there will surely be some gamers who won't like the type of feature being implemented. With some gamers only using the private chat to talk to friends while playing different games, this will likely pose a problem for them.

it makes sense in terms of cheating. Normally some games make it so u can't chat with players once you've died. It's pretty much a wasted feature if party chat voids its purpose.

I won't be playing MW2 much I don't think, and I don't normally use Private Chat. It's a good thing if it stops people from cheating in Search and Destroy etc. though. I'll support it if they don't bring it to games I want to play, such as Forza Motorsport 3 and such. It could easily be done in an update.

I think that was a move from Infinity Ward. They want teams to work as a whole, not 4 gold cross faggots in a party chat carrying everyone.

On the downside, we get to hear all the bullshit people talk about amongst themselves that should stay in party chats.

I don't think everytime I want to play the game, I can gather a full team of friends. Not to mention I'm not going to mute the team every single time I play a game, I might aswell not play multi-player.

Besides that, it takes 2 seconds to mute the other players, and I doubt you'll need to mute them every single time. D:

Really I don't care since I'm getting MW 2 for the PS triple anyways, but I never used party chat to talk to other players ingame; I used it to talk to friends playing other games.

I actually miss being able to talk to anyone. Xbox Live feels so cold, mainly because you don't hear the voices of your allies and enemies in your game. Long I ago I always loved popping into a game, and knowing that I would meet someone either to annoy the hell out of with soundboards, or get to know them well. I made three of my XBL friends through random coversation and matchmaking.

It's like party chat won't exist anymore. There is the ability to talk to specific people while playing Call of Duty games though. I dunno... I understand that they don't want cheating but I don't like this. I usually chat in parties with people playing other games and I find party chat useless now because that was it's initial purpose.

They should have it so you just can't be in a party with someone playing the same game (or even better: playing in the same match) as you.

I like to talk to my friends while I play different games. Since I don't have allot of games my friends have I am in parties all the time

its just like in fucking school, some annoying jackass kids get something completely taken away from everyone in the class
